Indian food today, New Bombay in Manila So far on my short stay here in Manila I’ve eaten me through two different countries. Now it’s time for the third country India. It’s not that I don’t like Filipino food on the contrary I do, but soon enough I will travel out in the province where Filipino food will be the only option.
The menu was like a bible I am far from being a specialist on Indian food but it seems to me that’s nothing was missing in the menu. Mutton, chicken, fish and seafood in many varieties. There were lot’s of vegetarian dishes without any meat as well. So down below are just some samples of what was available.
The food I ordered Chicken Cafrala, cubes of boneless chicken cooked in onion cashew gravy with coconut milk, garnished with grated cheese and cashew nuts with rice and Naan bread with garlic and cheese. The portion was not gigantic but together with the Naan bread it was totally enough for me and I consider myself as a big eater after all.
Conclusion The food was delicious. The flavor was rich and spicy and together with the Naan bread it was super. Service was nice and swift. The prices are low to midrange. All together my lunch here was very pleasant and I will be back some day!

Read moreThe worst Indian food possible. On the 4th floor of Robinsons mall. The restaurant was empty when I went there at 7pm when all other neighboring places was bustling. Despite that, I thought I would give it a try. Bad choice. I asked for mutton curry from the menu. The waitresses said not available. I asked for seafood choices, same not available. I should have left knowing they don't sell much. Anyways the better of me got me and I ordered Chicken tikka Biriyani and Yoghurt cucumber raita. Paid approx 500 pesos or 15 Au dollars. Came home to a spoilt and stinking Yoghurt Chutney that I am still wondering why would anyone pay 135 pesos for this separately. Yuck. It stank up my appartment. But the Biriyani was far from even mediocre and the chicken was stale. Packed it all and Threw it in the Garbage. This place is a disgrace to Indian food. Disgusting that Robinsons would allow them to even trade. The Manila food authorities should investigate this business for serving customers Stale food 🙏🙏🙏 Someone is going to be Sick eating New Bombay food. Because the Chef and Owners don't obviously care to Health...
Read moreThis was my very first Indian food experience :) So happy and impressed, will definitely come back!
Food was really good, we ordered the chicken tikka masala, chapatti, butter naan and garlic cheese naan. For drinks, we ordered the mango and plain sweet lassi which was also good. For dessert, we had Indian ice cream. Delicious!
It was surprisingly very filling, actually wasn’t expecting our order to be enough for two people.
The restaurant is located inside the mall at the third floor where there’s not much of a crowd and much quieter. We sat outside to enjoy a little bit of sun while having our scrumptious lunch.
All in all, it was a good dining experience. Definitely recommend to eat here if you’re around...
