Food is 5 stars in terms of quality and taste.
Price e is 1. We were scammed.. LOL.. we're asking how much is the price per kilo and the vendor will tell is this and that. When we got our haul, the servers took it directly to the related restaurants without even asking us how we prefer the cooking. We literally run to them inside the resto to confirm our dish..and the items are already at their kitchen area getting prepped.. Hahahha.. Strategies.. The vendor also went inside the resto and handed us the bill for the 1 kg of crabs, 1kg of swahe, half a kilo of scallops, and half a kilo of baby octopus. Our bill went as high at 2,700 pesos.. Apparently the vendor is giving us only half the price of each item everytime we ask for the price per kilo.. Strategies.. Half a kilo. Of scallops went as high as 390 pesos!!! For the cooking fee at the resto, we were charged 1,250 pesos. I guess it costs us 250 pesos for 5 dishes. The written bill had no details anyway.
Service is 2 I guess. The moment your wheels touched the place, you will never be left at peace by the servers promoting their restos. I wasn't even given the chance to look for alternatives as everything went in a wooshh.. Hahahha.. You'll be literally bombarded with everyone with their fast talks and fast hands.
First time going there. Overall the food quality and taste was great but the price and marketing strategies are not for everyone. I really felt I was scammed. LOL Next time i will go there for another seafood trip, I will be more, more careful with...

Before buying anything at the fish market, here are some important steps to follow to avoid getting scammed:
⸻
Step One: Buying Seafood • Take your time and ask multiple shops about their prices. Don’t rush. • Always count your seafood by pieces, and also calculate the total by kilo. • Don’t get distracted by sellers offering “extras” or “free” items. Focus on the price and make sure you know the final price at each shop. • Avoid taking the seller’s advice about restaurants—they often direct you to places that overcharge or are part of a scam.
⸻
Step Two: Buying Fruits or Vegetables • Follow the same advice as for seafood: compare prices and inspect the quality yourself. • Don’t leave behind any change—you might forget it. • Check the freshness yourself—don’t rely solely on the seller’s word.
⸻
Step Three: At the Restaurant • Agree on the price for cooking and cleaning the seafood before entering or handing over your items. • When your food is served, double-check the quantity matches what you bought. • Confirm the price of any extras like beverages before accepting. • Refuse any unsolicited dishes offered by the restaurant—they may charge you for them. • When you’re done, take any leftover food with you and consider giving it to...

First thing to take note - make sure to buy the ingredients yourself. It’s a great experience to personally choose the freshest food you are craving for. Be careful of those who offer to make the purchases for you because you won’t be completely assured your getting your money’s worth AND their service comes at a HEFTY price point 😅
Second - Weekends are always a good time to drop by Dampa but make sure to come early and if possible avoid the peak hours of lunch/dinner. Parking is very limited in this area so if you’re lucky enough to squeeze in one, well and good but if not you can always opt for the parking across.
Third - make a beeline for Seazar’s! Ambience is somewhat old but the food cannot be compared to the other restaurants within the market. Highly recommended are:
Halaan (clams/mussels soup) Adobong Pusit (i order this everytime and you’ll know why 😋😋) Crab (Sweet Chili) Scallops (Baked with a generous dollop of cheese too)
Hope these tips help you out and always make sure to be vigilant with your belongings especially at night. It still very much is a Market Place wherein Security is not as tight...
