Eating in a classy restaurant in a swanky hotel, you have expectations since its not exactly chump change. Candied walnuts sprinkled with sesame seeds, and really fragrant tea were served while we waited for our food served. You can request for the walnuts to be refilled, BTW. Viands were ordered in advance, so there was less waiting time for us. But we had to order our drinks twice before it was even served. We enjoyed Soup, Misua, Tenderloin beef with mushroom, Pigeon, Eel, Shrimp salad, shrimp toast and Peking duck served 2 ways. Soup was flavorful and would love to order to this again. All else were nothing to write home about. One can have it in typical chinese restaurant. Peking duck was a bit dry for my taste, Cai Hok in Z Square Banawe served better duck...and it was on promo...(expensive ambience in Man Ho.😅). Misua was too salty and was not replaced even if we complained about it and the shrimp on the shrimp salad was a bit salty too. I guess this restaurant isnt consistent when it comes to seasoning their food. Sadly, expectations were not met in this place. We hope to have a better...
Read moreWe had the peking duck, 2 ways. The first way was served with pancake. There were 8 of us and we only had 2 pcs each. The rest of the meat was reserved for the 2nd way of minced duck with lettuce. Honestly, 16 tiny pcs???? In all my years of eating peking duck, be it in Manila, NY, Shanghai, Taiwan, Singapore, HK, it's always eaten skin first, then skin with some meat and the rest is made second, third or six ways in Taiwan. Peking duck should have 120 slices and I'm assuming we only got 32 slices.
We also had sweet and sour pork which was good, beef with broccoli, noodles, fried rice were just ok.
Service was horrendous. We had to call their attention 3 times before we were given our hot towels. We had to call the attention of the waiters twice or three times before tea and water were replenished.
The resto had so many waiters but there was no one assigned to our table. There was also no maitre d' to complain to.
This to me is the worse hotel resto in Metro Manila. It was just too stressful...

All the food we ate were freshly made and warmly served using premium ingredients. Even their complimentary sweet walnut and hot fragrant tea were good. Service was exceptional. It was a great meal beautifully shared with my loved ones....
