The only positive aspect of this hotel is its convenient location near the airport and a nearby mall with various dining options.
My family and I typically stay here while travelling to the Philippines, but this time, we were disappointed. The rooms are small, quite dated and need some refurbishment. The building had a persistent musty smell, and our rooms had an unpleasant odour reminiscent of mould or sewerage. Additionally, the bed mattresses were sunken and uncomfortable.
Before we arrived in Manila, I attempted to coordinate airport transfer for our trip with no success. Despite multiple emails with the staff, they were unable to arrange all of our transfers, even though I provided our arrival and departure dates clearly.
Upon arrival, I tried to arrange an airport transfer to the domestic airport for the following day. The staff member assisting me seemed annoyed by my request.
I also attempted to reach out via phone and email for another transfer upon our return from Boracay, but no one answered or responded. We ended up getting a taxi at the airport instead, which was much easier. We were assisted by staff at the taxi booth at the airport, who were incredibly friendly and fast at arranging our transport.
The check-in and check-out processes were frustratingly slow. It seemed there was never enough stuff on the front desk, resulting in long lines. Leave a lot of time for your check-out so that you are on time for your travels if you are catching a flight.
I had an especially unpleasant interaction with Dennis on the front desk. His attitude was smug, and he displayed poor customer service skills. He lacked the flexibility, empathy and problem-solving abilities that are essential for fostering customer loyalty and satisfaction. He was more focused on getting as much money from me as possible rather than ensuring guest satisfaction. As a result, I chose to stay at a nearby hotel that offered a more pleasant experience with friendlier staff and better rooms with no bad smell.
I advise anyone looking to stay here not to book directly through The Belmont. They will try to take advantage of you and charge you astronomical prices, especially if you are a foreigner. Try to book through an accommodation website, or better yet, stay somewhere else.
While my family and I have stayed at the Belmont Hotel during our previous trips to the Philippines, we will not be returning due to the issues with room conditions and...
Read moreThe hotel location is excellent. There are various restaurants, coffee shops, and casinos around the area. There’s also a nearby laundry shop, which is very convenient as we stayed for 5 days in Manila. The hotel itself has a nice vibe to it. The security personnel were very friendly. The front desk staff were very welcoming and did the check-in process efficiently. I requested that the room have some welcome note, and they did great setting it up with a swan and some rose petals, but I got my last name mispelled.
We got the premium deluxe queen room, and it’s pretty small, especially the bathroom. The bed is too small/short. My boyfriend is 6’3 and sleeps with his feet hanging out of the bed, so it’s not as comfortable. I called to see if there’s any way we can move to a room with a bigger bed, and the lady told me all beds in the hotel are of the same length.
The bathroom is too small, and the bathroom floor takes time to drain, so there will be water collection while showering, which I don’t like. Water pressure and the shower work perfectly fine. The bathroom has a vanity kit, dental kit, soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and shaving kit.
The in-room dining food was excellent. We ordered the crispy pork belly rice bowl and the sisig. Both were amazing. The breakfast buffet was a bit disappointing. I had it included in our stay for 4 days, and we went once, but it’s not worth it. The food selection was basic. There’s an omelette station, but you can’t build your own as they only have vegetables (slices of green and red bell peppers and onions). The sunny-side eggs are not great (weird considering they’re just eggs). Other food choices took a while to get refilled.
The rooftop bar at the pool needs minor renovation. It looked pretty depressing to me. Other than that, everything else seems reasonable. Overall, it was a good stay, but...
Read moreDuring my recent stay at the hotel, I encountered a mix of experiences that made my visit somewhat memorable. The front desk staff were particularly welcoming and friendly, providing a positive first impression upon my arrival. Their professionalism and courteous demeanor truly set a pleasant tone for the stay.
The hotel room, while not spectacular, was adequately comfortable and met basic expectations. However, two notable downside was the outdated television which was a bit of a disappointment considering the technological advancements common in modern accommodations and lack of ventilation inside the room which causes undesired smell probably coming from the carpet rug.
Unfortunately, my experience in the hotel's café was less than satisfactory. The staff there were quite rude and their unfriendly attitude detracted significantly from the overall experience.
I would also express my disappointment regarding a recent experience with your spa services. I had made a reservation for a massage which was unfortunately cancelled just half an hour before the scheduled time due to emergency repair work.
While I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, I believe that such situations should be communicated to clients as early as possible. This last-minute notification caused significant inconvenience and frustration, as I had planned my day around this appointment.
In summary, while the front desk staff excelled in their roles, the outdated amenities and the rude café staff left much...
