The Manila Marriott is about 10 minutes from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Just make it clear to the taxi that you need to be dropped off at the Main Entrance. We were dropped off at the Grandball Room entrance and subsequently had to get a shuttle to pick us up. Marriott staff at the Grandball Room courteously arraigned for pick up. Check in was quick. The service from the staff is top notch. Security is excellent as every vehicle is screened and entrance gates have metal detectors/bag X-ray. Elevators must be operated by room keys. The environment is smoke free except for some designated areas. The West wing is about 4 years old IIRC, and there were no glitches, broken, or nonfunctional doors/equipment. The building is very clean outside and inside. There is an infinity pool at the roof of the building and the gym is also there. I did not use this part of the hotel. I cannot comment on price since my stay was on points. Did not have lunch or dinner in the hotel because most of the day was spent outside. We had access to the Executive Lounge which offered breakfast ranging from Continental breakfast to the typical heavy Filipino breakfast consisting of rice, garlic vegetables rice, Filipino sausage, or tapa ( Filipino marinated steak ). Eggs, pancakes can be ordered from the grill. Cereal, oatmeal, Champorado, and even Taho ( tofu with tapioca pearls and syrup ) is available. Bread of all sorts is available from Croissants, rolls, French bread that you need to slice to your need. This lounge is available till later in the evening although. Meals like breakfast is available early in the day with snacks and drinks reserved for later on in the day. I cannot comment on in room dining or in hotel restaurants.
Laundry service is very quick. You will get it back the next day.
Access to the Mall adjacent to the hotel does not require you to go outside as a series of corridors connect the bluilding to it. Casino ( smoke environment) is adjacent to the hotel. WiFi is good. Mobile WiFi is available from the desk. This may be a good option for overseas visitor if you can enable WiFi calling. This way, you can keep your original chip, put the phone on airplane mode land operate solely on WiFi. This will allow you to also surf. You need to clarify if it’s free. You only need to load the SIM card with megabytes purchased from the front desk. I wish I had found this out earlier.
Overall, my experience is...
Read moreMarriot Manila was a nightmare, I booked 2 rooms for 2 nights with access to the Executive Lounge. Everything was good from checking in up until their evening cocktail hours. There was only few choices of beverages in the Executive Lounge. My family and I drink prefer whiskey and to our surprise Marriot Manila only served ( White Mackay Whisey) which cost approximately 500 pesos per liter.I have asked the Lounge staff for black label or chivas regal which is served in every Marriot hotels at least decent whiskey not cheap brand. The staff said they dont have chivas regal or black label as they are doing an inventory. Afterwards, they inform their so call Executive Manager called Mr Christian and he said he will check if they have it downstairs. He then came back to us and said that if we want chivas regal or black label it will cost me 12,500 pesos. However he also said he has 5 shots of chivas regal and he was happy to present us the bill for 3,600 and he said he will waive that, thinking he was doing us a favor. I wanted to check out he accepted at the beginning however when we phoned the travel agent trip.com they told us that the hotel wont allow us to checked out for a refund. Mr Christian was lying to us telling us that if we want to checked out then its okay but the agent says otherwise. Later that night the staff told us that we can checked out however they will only refund us for 1 night which I have no choice but to stay for a night I have paid for as I wont get a refund. For 15,000 pesos a night a room is ridiculous. Especially when you have been treated like rubbish .Its not even about that their was no whiskey of my choice but the way he handled the situation. Mr Christian even said that "its like going to mercury drug and you buy a meat and if its not there then its not there". How come this man Mr Christian compare a prestigious company like Marriot to the Mercury drug?? We arrived in the Philippines from Thailand trip and we choose Marriot as we stayed at 3 Marriots in Thailand during this trip. We stayed at JW MArriot Bangkok, Marriot Bangkok Sukhumvit and Marriot Marquez and were all superb and amazing stay. Marriot Manila is has to stop penny pinching and at least serve a decent whiskey for the guest that paid the expensive stay and looked into your staff behaviour. What a complete waste of 30,000 pesos for 2 rooms for 1 night and left hotel feeling...
Read moreMy first trip to the Philippines was supposed to be a short two-day stay in Manila before venturing out to explore the islands. However, thanks to the exceptional service at the Manila Marriott Hotel, my quick getaway turned into an unforgettable six-day experience. From the moment I stepped into the grand lobby, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine Filipino hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Whether they recommended local restaurants, arranged transportation, or simply offered a friendly chat, their attentiveness made me feel like a valued guest.
The hotel itself is a haven of luxury and comfort. My room was spacious, impeccably clean, and fully stocked, and it came with a complimentary breakfast buffet at the Marriott Cafe. The bed was so comfortable that I had some of the best sleep I've had in a long time. The hotel's facilities were equally impressive, with a state-of-the-art fitness center, a relaxing spa, and various dining options to satisfy any craving.
While the hotel's amenities and facilities were top-notch, it was the staff that truly made my stay exceptional. Their genuine care and dedication to service were evident in every interaction. They were always willing to go the extra mile to ensure my comfort and happiness. This level of personalized service transformed my stay from a typical hotel experience into a truly memorable one. Ron, Geo, and Gela were my absolute favorite servers.
Of course, no trip to Manila is complete without experiencing the local culture and attractions. The Manila Marriott's convenient location made it easy for me to explore the city's historical sites, vibrant markets, and delicious cuisine. And while I did encounter a minor hiccup with a taxi driver who tried to scam me, it was quickly overshadowed by my positive experiences throughout my stay.
Ultimately, my six-day stay at the Manila Marriott Hotel was a testament to the power of exceptional service. The staff's unwavering commitment to guest satisfaction turned what was supposed to be a short trip into an extended and unforgettable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend the Manila Marriott Hotel to anyone seeking a luxurious and truly memorable...
