It was an ordeal, is how I would put it! From the parking to get the final bill it was a struggle. The valet attendant in the parking lot, was insistent on getting the keys to the car, inspite of there being an empty slot (near the entrance) for parking. When i asked why, he said, since there were people ahead of me, (whose cars were already properly parked), they would move those cars to that place. I said that makes no sense, why don't I just park there, since the number of cars that were double parked would be the same anyway. He kept on insisting, saying the other guest were "prius", (took me a while to figure he meant previous). I said, what will happen is that you'll just keep moving cars around. And wasting gas, but he was insistent, so I left the keys, went in and had the manager (Lance?), come to talk to the guy. He then kept on repeating "prius", and even went so far as to say, they were trying to save gas for the "prius" customer. (huh?). By moving cars around? (one can't help bit think they just wanted to play around with the cars. Or worse. To his credit the manager, saw the lack of logic and talked to the guy in the lot. Getting the bill: we were a table of 13. I had instructed in advance to have a separate bill, since i have a senior discount. Upon presentation of the bill i had given my I. D. and credit card for my payment, and the others were computing their individual shares (about 15 mins). They then gave the money to the waiters (who weren't attnetive by the way). I was curiious regarding the lenght of time it was taking for my card to come, so I went to the counter. As I got there I saw my I. D, card on the bottom of the heap, and another waitress just putting bills on top of it. (apparently, they haven't heard of first in, first out.), So i talked to the cashier, and she got my bi from the bottom (bt this time 25 mins had passed), and gave a 13 pesos discount for my bill of approx 750 php!!! I asked why, and she said because of sharing. Biting down an acidic retort, i pointed out that i had already asked for a separate bill before anything else, and everyone in our party had their own orders. It was after this, that she recomputed. The whole dinning experience was just a horrible ordeal. From the parki g to the bill. Food was above average, bit not worth the stupidity/ lack of common sense of the staff. Dine at your own risk. This place has been opened for some time, and this ko d of problems, should have been ironed out a long time ago. Definitely, NOT a place i...
Read moreI didn't expect this place to busy, considering that it was a Tuesday evening that I went, but this location is fairly close to one of the local television stations' studios, as well as it being mid December, that it made sense that there was active foot traffic in this area.
I was previously told that parking is almost non-existent in the area, and this proved to be true. Thankfully, a local volunteered to drive, and after a few minutes, we were lucky enough to get a spot. It was still a short five minute walk there, which involved crossing the street between moving vehicles and navigating around a few homeless people (which is a topic for another review entirely) but we finally got to our destination.
There was no wait to come in, and instead of having a person check your temperature at the door (people are still concerned of the COVID pandemic after all), there was a hand scanner that you put either hand in, and it reads your temperature. Once past that, our local guide asked for open air seating. We got seats under a minute.
The food selection that they had were unique but familiar at the same time. I had a chicken with some sort of cajun seasoning in it, and rice. It was delicious but if you're not familiar more used to rice for your meal, though I didn't attempt it, I believe that they may be able to do substitutions for you. I did see an option with mashed potatoes, hence my suspicion.
The meal came up to about ₱2000, which is just s little below US $40. Not bad for a party of four with their own meal orders and a bottle of beer each, with the service charge included in the bill. Tipping isn't the norm here, but it's also not frowned upon so that is up to you.
Still, I'd consider this place a little bit steep, price wise, if you're used to Philippine fastfood fare prices. I'd come eat in this place again, once I get my ears used to the almost incessant Kpop music that played in...
