Went there with my friend to eat dinner. Came in at a "relatively calm" time and were seated almost immediately. Relatively attentive staff.
The ambience is quite relaxing due to the lack of lighting, and the entire place has this "dimmed dining room" feel, but not too dark that you cannot see what you are eating. (Though their taste in music/playlist was a little... questionable, it did not fit the overall aesthetic and vibe of the "dim establishment")
We then ordered the Bacon Poutine (as the onion cube was out-of-stock), Secret Burger, and Double Backyard burger. Taste-wise, they were pretty okay — not astonishing nor mind-blowing, though they were seasoned well and cooked right. The breadwinner or MVP of the entire affair was the Bacon Poutine.
Still... for the price, the serving size of the burgers were quite horrifying when you compute quantity-to-price. The literal picture of the burgers up at the front were these thick 1-1.5 inch patties, and what came to us was a flattened patty served along with an equally dismally-sized bread. False advertising. (There is a review of 3 years ago where the burger is actually large and the patty is accurate to the pictures/advertising, not sure what changed there.)
For the real "bomb", there was this waitress there — who was our server for a short time. Perhaps she was having a bad day or an odd temperament... relationship/personal problems that were likely to have been brought to work. This particular waitress was banging the spoons, forks, cutlery and plates every single time she was finished wiping them. Such sounds is only fit for a horror house, and this accompanied the entire stay at the establishment from the moment our foods arrived, to the moment we paid and presumably, continued long after we left. There was only a brief amount of respite when she did something else that did not involve the cutlery.
Also... the man there wearing all-black clothing/uniform (maybe the manager or some other position) — did not offer a customer feedback form nor even a visible QR code for such a purpose (this was also not observed in the restaurant.) So if your experience was good or bad, you have no choice but to either leave it here or on Facebook.
2/10. Would not...

Finally had the chance to eat in a place where I know the chef by name, Todd English. Todd English is an amazing chef and a restauranteur, that I’ve seen in Top Chef when they did Restaurant Wars. It’s a very cool that I had this opportunity.
A unique name , Pound has a one page menu that has a small variety of food that specializes in classic American food. I had to try their burgers so I chose their sliders so I can have both. One will be the burger with cheese and I added the egg yolk in the middle. By the way , insert story, you can customize your burgers on whatever add on condiments and meats that you want. With my huge and chicken slider. I left it as is with the relish. The fried chicken inside was very juicy. It was very moist inside and it was something that I would definitely crave for. Their Parmesan crisps ( fries ), was a perfect salty bite to pair with my sliders. This meal definitely was perfect for my last night here. I will definitely crave this place!!

Read morePrior to our first visit to Pound, several of our relatives highly recommended this restaurant, and now we completely understand why! We arrived absolutely starving, so we had high expectations, and Pound exceeded every single one.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, attentive service. Our server, Ate Hazel, was so kind and friendly, she even helped me with my Instagram stories, which was such a sweet gesture! Kuya Nard was also incredibly accommodating, always ready to refill our water or answer any questions with a genuine smile.
Chef Jasper truly impressed us with the food. Every dish was served quickly, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Even my sister, who has very high standards when it comes to food, finished her entire plate, which says a lot!
Overall, this experience made me a fan of Pound, and I’d happily come back to any branch. Amazing service, great ambiance, and fantastic food, highly...
