Wangfu Chinese Café — Restaurant in Quezon City

I honestly don't think the owners of this place have tried Singaporean Hawker food. We ordered. Hot & Sour soup 2/5 Yang Chow Fried Rice 0/5 (no wok hei) Cereal Prawns 4/5 (2-3 more curry leaves would give this dish 5 stars) Salted Egg Squid 4/5 (its not a hard dish to make) Hainanese Chicken 0/5 (total fail, and it has a weird slimy sauce) Salt/Garlic Pork 4/5 (again, not hard to make) French Beans 5/5 Fish with Tausi 3/5 Tables were too small for people who plans to share dishes, and their waiters will just keep the food coming, even if you don't have any space on your table. Since I'm in the subject of service, waiters also try to avoid eye contact with customers, pretending to be crazy busy even if the resto is less than half its capacity (and yes, there were very few Grab orders too), you need to scream at them twice if you need anything. They were out of Chicken Rice, sauces for the hainanese chicken were also terrible. Cannot recommending this...

Food quality did not disappoint, bordering more on comfort food which was great 👌, although a bit on the salty side. Portions are just right for sharing. Prices are reasonable. Service was efficient and staff were friendly. Tables, chairs and floor were clean. Piped-in music was a nice surprise- choice of current C-pop songs was pleasant. Volume was not jarring to the ears and did not distract conversation. Ambient temperature was comfortable. What impressed me was my order of the osmanthus tea. It was served using tea leaves and NOT in a tea bag (unlike Shi Lin)...and, after asking for permission, the kuya allowed me to bring home the tea leaves! I was still able to enjoy the tea at home. 😉 I'd advise going early to avoid the lunch hour rush...I usually see the area packed with diners...

This review is for Wangfu SM Fairview branch. We were supposed to have my brother’s birthday dinner celebrated here. We did our research and found out that they are closing at 10pm.

We arrived at Wangfu at 8:30pm and saw that a lot of seats were vacant. We were then informed that they have a cut off for dine in and unfortunately, they can no longer accommodate us. This isn’t the first time we had this experience from the same branch. The previous experience was forgivable because we arrived late at 9:15pm however, this time it’s completely unreasonable and completely laziness.
