⛔️⛔️⛔️JOLLIBEE HAS BIGGER TABLES THAN THIS RESTAURANT ⛔️⛔️⛔️
THERE I SAID IT. HONESTLY TRIED TO BE NICE - See original review below.
⛔️STOP BLAMING YOUR GUESTS INSTEAD OF YOUR IRRATIONAL STAFF ⛔️
YOUR STAFF ACTUALLY AGREED TO LET US MOVE TO A BIGGER TABLE AFTER REQUESTING 4 TIMES WHICH MEANS THEY HAD THE OPTION TO LET US MOVE BUT OPTED NOT TO.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Dear Management of El Born,
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with the experience my friends and I had at your establishment recently. As guests who had made a reservation for four individuals, we were shocked and dismayed to find ourselves seated at a small table designed for two.
Despite our polite request to be relocated to one of the four other empty tables, we were informed that they were reserved. It is perplexing and disheartening that despite having made a reservation for the same number of guests, we were not accorded the same courtesy of a comfortable dining arrangement.
This seating oversight severely impacted our dining experience and left us feeling undervalued as customers. The refusal to accommodate our reasonable request, coupled with the explanation that these tables were reserved, raises questions about the fairness and consistency of your reservation policies.
Moreover, this substandard service directly influenced our decision to truncate our meal, ultimately depriving us of the opportunity to sample more of your menu offerings. As a result, we opted to only try your cheesecake before leaving, rather than enjoying the full dining experience we had planned, which included ordering steak, paella, and additional dishes.
I urge you to review your seating allocation procedures and ensure that all patrons, regardless of whether they have made a reservation, are treated equitably and provided with a comfortable dining environment. Additionally, I recommend reevaluating your approach to customer service to prioritize guest satisfaction and address any concerns promptly and effectively.
I hope that you take this feedback seriously and use it constructively to improve the overall dining experience at El Born.
Sincerely,
Your...

lol.
Got the small croquettes with truffle, the bomba and the wedges. All the potato apps were quite good, but go easy on the sauce, it gets pretty salty if you put a lot of the sauce with every bite so sauce moderately, lol.
The pulpo carpaccio was pieces of baked/fried? Octopus on fancy mashed potatoes. Nice subtely on the truffle, it has good flavor without being too in your face.
The chicken was rubbery, and we found a stray hair on one of the pieces. Upon pointing it out, they took the plate and came back 10 mins later to say it came from the net for the veggie sides. 3 issues. 1. Why isn't it stuck on the veggies instead of the chicken. 2. It was an errant strand that looked nothing like a net. 3. If it was a net then it's an inedible item that had no business being on the plate as much as a hair.
Chef now claims it's an errant piece of herb. For a piece of meat studded with herbs all over it's strange that there's only a single hair "herb". Pictures are attached, judge for yourselves.
The steak was cooked well, the mustard sauce it came with was quite enjoyable. Portion was too small for the price. This and the previous chicken dish were supposedly good for 4. 4 chicken thighs does not a meal for 4 make. Even fast food understands a 2pc chicken meal is only food for 1.
The waitstaff was quite attentive but it took forever to get the bill considering the place was nowhere near full. They can also be a little intrusive at times since they tend to hover around you.
All in all I felt the food was way overpriced, some items were too heavily seasoned, and the management, from top to bottom, leaves a lot...
