Read moreLe Petit Chef from France in Manila is one of a kind experiences. When booking this, I had little idea what to expect. It was an evening celebrating a friends birthday. Le Petit did not disappoint.
Upon arrival, we got seated promptly. We were served drinks and shortly after, the show began. Our host for the night came out ever so often to fill us in on what to expect. Each dish was exquisite and made to perfection.
You can expect a two-hour gastronomic journey combined with amazing culinary creations, cinematic entertainment, and stunning views of the city from The Peak. It is located inside Grand Hyatt hotel. The 6-course menu crafted by Executive Chef Mark Hagan and Le Petit Chef comes to life through a fun and engaging 3D animation on your dining table. We couldn’t stop laughing. It was entertaining and extremely creative. A place where you can bring your boss to impress or the whole family to make memories together. Anyone would enjoy this type of show.
The first course was an Italian burrata dish. I enjoyed the touch of red grapefruit. Very refreshing. The second course was bouillabaisse, which was one of my personal favorites. A grilled sea bass along with scallops, mussels and prawns, engulfed in the best shellfish broth. The next dish was a smoked chicken foie gras ballotine. The mushrooms and tarragon were great compliments. I was feeling full with the great portions, but couldn’t deny the main course. A char-grilled Australian beef which had incredible moist to it and the potato galette was to die for. The roasted carrots and brandy sauce was out of this world. The dessert was incredible, starting with mascarpone crème brûlée and ending with a homemade baked Alaska. Every dish was thought through and service was impeccable. The servers were prompt and ensured everything was delivered in a timely manner.
The 3D lights which presented a whole cinematic show on the table was unexpected and fun to watch. Truly, a memorable night and one we still talk about till...
Read moreJust a summary of when I celebrated my birthday here last year and we booked their Marco Polo course menu.
Food, started with the French Soup seafood soup, clams and mussels, all were blended smoothly couldn’t even notice any bits of it and salmon as well but tasted like any clam chowder soup.
Cab Prime Beef Tenderloin, steak texture itself not really that good and tasted bland, but the sides it came with added some flavor.
Butter King Prawn, was the one I anticipated most but got disappointed with most too. The Butter Prawns were served cold and were not really “King” size but rather small ones, and the butter sauce was not the best I tried. And the Saffron rice was very watery. They could have done better here.
Sorbet was refreshing but we had nothing to note.
Braised Sea Bass, as a person who eat Chinese food the most this just taste average and more similar to a chinese fastfood, honestly it doesn’t justify the price as much and there are more non-fine dine restaurants that make a better version of this. But its the Abalone that makes it expensive.
Yogurt Honey Panna Cotta, this is good, I have also had this twice in The Peaks Valentines tasting menu. Creamy, coconuty, sweet and some tanginess from the mango, for a non-chocolate lover this hits the spot!
I appreciate that they also gave a complimentary cheesecake which was really good too, couldn’t help but finish the entire serving.
Atmosphere, I have tried other tasting menu’s that also have special animated lighting and sound effects but for Le Petit Chef there is also a short story telling and re-enactment of their staff with full costume which makes it truly a one of a kind experience that you would not easily forget most specially for children and I think this is what we really paid for dining at...
