Good food, TRASH Service - NOT COMING BACK The staff seemed accommodating to customers who looked professional and mature but not to college students who appeared young. Discrimination much? Although the restaurant was a 20-minute walk from where we got off, we decided to give it a try because we were really excited to taste the food. Upon entering, we were directed to a table that hadn’t been properly cleaned—no food stains, but there were leftover water marks. They only removed a single plate (I think?) and didn’t even bother wiping the table. Fine, we let that slide. We scanned the QR menu on the table, but it didn’t show prices, and the online menu was incomplete. So, we raised our hands and waited until someone finally brought us physical menus. Despite waiting for a while, no one gave us a menu until we had to raise our hands and specifically request it. After placing our orders, they served the iced tea that one of my friends ordered. The rest of us opted for water since we were cutting back on sweets. They brought us a pitcher of service water—but no glasses. Again, fine. I raised my hand and asked for glasses, which they eventually brought over but roughly placed on our table. I brushed it off, thinking they might just be busy and on a rush. However, when it was time to bill out, the restaurant wasn’t as busy anymore. Most of the staff were just gathered around the counter, yet they still ignored our attempts to get their attention. Was it because you thought we’d ask for another water refill? I had to walk to the cashier to request the bill myself. Despite the poor service, I still said my “thank you’s” politely and made requests in a respectful tone. My friends and I understand that servers work hard and deserve respect, so WE ALWAYS TIP GENEROUSLY EVEN AS STUDENTS. Just because we look young or less well-off doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate good service or have the means to pay. Unfortunately, this time, we decided not to leave a tip because of how poorly we were treated. Regardless of how a customer looks, I hope they treat everyone with attentiveness and at least a little politeness, even if they don’t seem like they have the means to tip. Other customers who appeared to be office employees from BGC were attended to properly, while we, as young students, were disregarded. This experience was disappointing, and we won’t be coming back.

I saw this place from my fyp saying that this place has great steak. We got their Signature steak, a lemon shrimp pesto pasta, iced spanish latte, and a scoop of pecan ice cream. We started with coffee and it had some cinnamon. It added another flavor to the coffee which was nice. Their steak can come with 2 sides. We choose salad and mashed potatoes for sides. I also asked for the steak to be medium rare. The steak was well seasoned and charred from the grill. The meat was tender but not really crusty on the outside. It also had some tendons which i didnt like. My wife, didnt mind eating the tendons since she likes having that on cornbeef. It also came with some sour bbq sauce. I didn't need it since the steak was already quite flavorful. It wasnt amazing to be honest but for a price of only 500 with two sides, this is definitely a great deal! Next was the lemon pesto pasta. This was bland, sadly. We could tell that the shrimp was frozen so it barely had any flavor and the noodles lacked flavor as well. On the positive, the serving was quite generous for sharing and we were both very full after eating the steak and the pasta. We ended with the ice cream, and this was really good! It was so good we forgot to picture it. It had some almonds, it wasn't too sweet and had a hint of some saltiness which my wife loved. Mad Marks seem to pride themselves with their ice cream and it shows. We did wait quite awhile before we got our food but service was still ok. There were a lot of people eating when we came so you can tell this place is a favorite amongst workers in the area. The ambience has a casual vibe to it. I would like to bring family with me next time and see if this place would be their next fave steakhouse.

We ordered the ff: Buenas Guaca Nachos: 10/10 ( the nachos was crispy, the mix sauce was tasty and the avocado dip. : super 😋 Shrimp Marinara : 3/10 (bland and dry) USDA Steak (M) : 5/10 (the steak was so so, but the mashed potato was so good ) Classic BBQ Ribs : 10/10 (my son like it so much) The only thing holding us back from ever returning to this restaurant is the overwhelming presence of cockroaches. Here’s what happened: the moment we were seated, a cockroach was the first to greet us at our table. It was very much alive and crawling on the glass. I didn’t notice if they replaced the glass afterward. We decided to move to another table. Since the place came highly recommended by a friend who said the food was good, we chose to give it a chance and tried to ignore what happened. All our food was eventually served, but in the middle of the meal, another cockroach crawled right in front of me and even jumped onto my lap. I nearly screamed—good thing I was able to hold it in. A staff member saw what happened and quickly removed the cockroach. My child said, “The food is good, Mommy,” and I agreed, but I also explained that cleanliness should be part of the dining experience. What if those cockroaches had crawled over the food they were serving us? He just finished his meal, and I asked for the rest to be wrapped. What was really disappointing is that not even the manager or any staff member approached us to apologize. It felt like they had already gotten used to this kind of situation—as if cockroaches were just part of the dining experience. That’s just… errrggghhh.

Lunch time (around 11:20am, Oct. 26, 2023). No one greeted us at the door to take us to a seat (first time, and we've eaten here a few times in the past). No one also bothered to accommodate us when we were raising our hands for the menu - had to just take them in the counter with the staff not batting an eye as one of them was busy while the order one's doing something else on their phone.

After deciding what to eat, we managed to get the attention of a staff and set our order. Staff said serving time was 15-20 minutes.

Almost 20 minutes later, nothing yet. Looking around, my friend and I saw how the place is full yet everyone else (who obviously were there before us) had no food yet on their tables. Then we saw how the staff have been stacking lots of take-out food on the corner of the room.

We called the attention of one of the staff again and asked when our food's going to be taken care of. They said, (paraphrasing) "25-30 minutes. Sorry, we had the take-outs to deal with first."

It was such a waste of 20 minutes there. Wasn't even honest about the serving time. Hope it's an isolated case, and I hope this isn't the case with others before or ever again in the future. Wasting time like that, just disappointing.

Food's been great. 5 stars, since I got no complaints there. Food's great. Would recommend it. They're really good (based on some of the food we've had, mostly steak and desserts).

If you're not in a rush, then a possible long wait shouldn't be a problem. Even back when we were eating there with the staff not taking care of any loads of takeouts, really legit 15-20+ minutes of serving time. So something to take note of.

Service, just 1 star. Without the incident earlier, would give them just 3 stars since even if the place is rather small, it's hard to get attention of the staff on our past dine-ins there. We've also yet to experience getting our orders earlier than that. One can argue the time because it's lunch but the least they can give us is an honest estimate of the serving of our food.

Atmosphere, 3 stars.(just alright) Would bump it up to 4 had we not experienced getting water (leaks) dropped on us on our past dine-ins. Had informed them about it. Hopefully, those got fixed, but...
