There are many things going for this hotel, so I will start with the positives. The team member messaged the night before arrival offering help, which was great. They organised a transport from the airport to the hotel (around £25 at the time of writing). |There was a warm welcome at the arrival, and the team members couldn't be more helpful. In fact, the whole team has been amazing during my stay, which is one of the highlights. |Hotel was immaculate, from the entrance, hallways, the room etc. |Breakfast was also rather good. Plenty of choice for everybody, team members making sure everything is full and tidy. |Location of this hotel is unbeatable. It is minutes away from the main square. In fact, when you turn into the streets on either left or right, you can see the square already. I have visited Krakow before, but for those that haven't yet, this hotel will make it easy to walk to most things you want to do in the city. The castle is 10-15 minute walk, Schindler's factory maybe 30 minute walk, but it takes less, most other museums are, again, a nice walk from the hotel. One is directly opposite the hotel. |The only downside to this hotel is the bathroom. I can see this hotel is playing on an "old-world charm", but that can be tricky, and it's a fine line between that, and just looking in need of refurbishment. Our bathroom was clean, and team members did their job perfectly, but it looked like bathroom that is 25 years old, and in desperate need of refurbishment. Limescale on the shower cube, shower cube small and lifted to the point a tall person struggles to maintain posture, cheap toilet seat that doesn't stay in place etc. It doesn't have to be a huge bathroom to make it amazing. I wouldn't even use this sort of a shower cube for the hotel. You could have an amazing walk-in rainfall shower, high quality toilet and a contemporary wash basin, which doesn't actually cost all that much, and suddenly you go from what looks like a tired 3-star bathroom at best, to a luxury 5-star. |Krakow has a great selection of 5-star hotels, so you have to up your game if you want to be in line with your competition, because this is not all that 5-star. |I almost always stay in 5-star hotels, so this review is based on my extensive experience, and the fact that last time I was in Krakow I stayed in a hotel that was walking distance from this one, and that was a true 5-star.|If you get a good deal on this hotel compared to others in the city centre I would absolutely recommend staying in it. The comment above was a constructive feedback, because 5-star connoisseurs will eventually start giving this place a miss if it doesn't change. Hotel is a massive part of somebody's experience in any...
Read moreA 5 star it was not probably a 3 star at most, here is why :|We were given a very large room in the eves, room 309, very small bathroom with not much place to put our toiletries, the bathroom freebies were minimal, the light was blocked in both 2 roofwindows by broken grubby blinds, eventually the nightporter sorted one out as the receptionist couldn't, the next day the 2nd blind remained open but couldnt be closed after we complained again. . The carpet had a big black stain, pointed it out to housekeeper but no reaction, and it remained, upon opening a drawer we found cords and wooden sticks, housekeeper eventually took it away but didn't clean the drawer. No bathrobes nor slippers, we asked for them and received bathrobes fit for a child, at 5ft5 and normal size it didnt cover my knees and i could barely close it, my husband at 6ft had the same size and he couldn't close the bathrobe😅. The receptionist sent us to the wrong museum for an exhibition we very much wanted to see, when we were told at the museum of the mistake it was too late to go to the right one and it was closed on the next day which is was our penultimate day! At breakfast coming down at 9h05 we were told thst fresh orange and smoothies were finished and the kitchen wouldn't supply anymore same occurred the next day no fresh juices at all. Both coffee machines when used during our whole 3 day stay showed the same message, need descaling call a technician, maybe the clue is in the make Tchibo? The waitress had to come over to push a button so the next guest could fill their coffee cup! But descaling didn't occur... |The old toaster is taking forever, so one fills one's plate instead of waiting for the toasts to be ready, various guests then nicked the toast and we had to redo the toast. To avoid this to happen one of us kept an eye whilst the other filled their plate. Ridiculous. It would be better if management upgraded the toaster. We politely told the reception of the various problems, we received a nice smile but no other reaction. Just hope management will read this. The hotel started as a 3 star, then upgraded to a 4 star and now a 5 star, but in my opinion they never passed the level of a 3 star. The only positive was its situation in walking distance of many...
Read moreWe absolutely LOVED this hotel as well as the wonderful service from super awesome and friendly staff! Everything was fantastic and I could not wait to write a review to thank Oscar for helping us to get our plans finalized! Thank you Oscar for taking the time to help to arrange everything for us during our time in Krakow including a taxi pick up at the airport and getting us to our Auschwitz tour. Our taxi driver made sure we did not miss the tour despite the fact that our flight was delayed and we had a tight window to make it to the tour. Rafal made sure we were on the tour bus while he took care of our luggage and took it to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel our luggage was waiting in our room as well as complimentary wine and fruit tray and a welcoming letter! We Loved it! Since we were traveling with 2 children we stayed in the apartment with 2 beds! Wow it was spectacular with amazing views of the Florian gate! Cannot emphasize enough how amazing the location of this hotel is! Breakfast was great in a beautiful setting with the option to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful patio! Inside of the restaurant the decor reminded us of the rich history of Krakow! Don’t hesitate to book this hotel!!!! Everything about it was great and we loved the air conditioning!!!! 😂 Transportation to and from the airport was also very convenient and taxi drivers were so nice and friendly! Thank you Rafal and Andrzej again!!!!! Great stay overall with best location one could have wished for! I would give 10 stars if I...
