TAK-OS.Mexicanstyle — Restaurant in Wrocław

I am so grateful that I was able to try authentic Mexican food for the first time at this wonderful restaurant, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The lovely husband and wife who run the place guided us beautifully through the menu, ensuring that we ordered something that truly suited our taste. The food truly reflected their hard work and love for Mexican cuisine.

Beyond the food, what made this visit even more special was the warm and engaging conversation. I left not only with a full stomach but also with a newfound appreciation for Mexico’s rich culinary and cultural history. The restaurant is filled with quotes, pictures, and decor that tell a story, and the owners took the time to explain them, making the experience even more beautiful.

Tasting food while learning about its history made this an unforgettable experience. If you’re in Wrocław, I highly recommend visiting this gem! You’ll get to enjoy all the subtle flavors of Mexico while feeling right at home in their cozy and welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back for more. I am mexican in Europe since more than 20 years and I am not able to go back to Mexico every year. Hence, I try to discover -or meet again- every time I have the possibility, flavors and tastes that I left in Mexico. Work brought me to Wroclaw (Nice city!) I saw that there were several "mexican" restaurants. Before trying TAK-OS I tried another "mexican" restaurant/taqueria that has three different vending points in Wroclaw but I was completely disappointed. The dish I got was mexican only by the name (marketing strategy?) It was far away from what you can find in Mexico. This address is now on my list "to avoid" I went to TAK-OS searching for this food memory but I was afraid to be disappointed again. I was not disappointed at all! TAK-OS is a real mexican restaurant/taqueria. The food (gringas & torta de barbacoa), the horchata and the sauces I had tasted like Mexico. The decoration reminded me Mexico. TL;DR: amazing home made Mexican food!

There are times when you are just going to a place not knowing what to expect, you just heard about a place and you are like "yeah, let's see what is all that fuss about". That was how we got to TAK-OS and it was amazing..not only the food is great, including the tacos, home made from locally grown corn, the home made drinks are awesome (including the rice cinnamon thingy that you must try and taste like a a bowl of milk with cereals) but the staff is amazing. The cook is not a man of many words :) but his wife she will answer all your questions, she will tell you what is what and why you should try this. She is one of those people, that if you will be talking with her long enough she will become your friend :) Go there now, before it will become the best Mexican place in Wrocław and you will have to wait for the table for 30 minutes, but even then you will still want to wait those 30 minutes - beacsue it's worth the wait.
