Luca Restaurante — Restaurant in Coimbra

A cozy little cafe with very good food and super good price! I had a steak perfectly cooked to my liking, a portion of French fries, a rucula salad with parmesan and cherry tomatoes + a Pedras sparking water, all in just for €8! You cannot get anywhere else better than that! My husband has a wrap (which came in 2 big rolls) with goat cheese, Presunto, rucula and honey + a Pedras sparkling water, delicious for €5.5. We were full that we didn't even get the desserts. The staff were nice, polite and speak perfect English. The cafe also has many local Portuguese produces like wines, sardines, ports, nicely displayed on shelves, very good to buy as gifts. I arrived at the place after 10:30 AM, the time indicated on their website as their opening hours. When I asked if I could take a seat, the woman working there asked me in a rather rude way, "For what?" I was so taken aback by her tone that it took me a second to answer that I just wanted to have breakfast. She said that they weren't open yet, despite the fact that the doors were already open, music was playing inside, and the chairs were arranged outside. While I could understand that the kitchen might not have been operational at that moment, it would have been helpful if they had updated their hours online or at least refrained from opening the doors. Luca is one of our favourite place to have lunch. The restaurant is located in a cute and peaceful square near the main high street. The food is always delicious and is a great alternative for those who are looking for something healthy to eat. So far we tried the fresh organic orange juices and smoothies, the hummus, falafel, pastel de bacalhau for snacks.
