JOY Family Space and Brunch — Restaurant in Funchal

Our whole family enjoyed our visit! Mom and Dad got to enjoy a delicious fresh meal - we had the salmon, cream cheese and salads baguette and the smoked salmon wrap (special mention for the sweet potato fries which were the best we've had!) while the kids played. What we especially liked was the calm and peaceful atmosphere, the play space is not too jam-packed with toys but instead has a good amount of space for the kids to play and the activities are on the calmer side so you don't have a room full of screaming children. Disappointing Experience

We waited more than 30 minutes for our order (2 adults and a toddler), even though there were only two families in the entire café. The food was extremely basic – a simple sandwich for 12 euros, nothing special at all.

The strawberry lemonade had strawberries that were clearly spoiled and should not have been used. The pasta was undercooked, and our child refused to eat it.

To make things worse, access to the playroom costs an additional 5 euros per hour, which felt unfair considering the quality of both food and service.

Unfortunately, we wouldn’t recommend this place. Definitely not good...

We stumbled upon this cozy cafe while strolling through the streets of Funchal with our three kids and decided to stop for brunch. The service was impressively fast, and while we waited for our food, our children had a great time playing in the kids' room.
