Go Where The Locals Go A friendly café where I have enjoyed many a coffee, beer or poncha over the last three months. There is always a delicious complementary snack to go along with a drink which is usually a small portion of one of the five daily meal specials. Every time it has been scrumptious. Off one of the back roads away from centre of Funchal is this little cafe with el fresco dining & I could smell the food from quite away down the road. The lady who served me spoke very good English & I didn't need to try using my newly learned Portuguese lingo from my phrase book. I just wanted a hamburger. The lady bought me a hamburger with egg, cheese, tomato & lettuce & a good sized beef burger patty. I totally enjoyed.
