Typical Lagos food. Totally and utterly average in every way, except price. I'm starting to doubt there are more than a handful of impressive restaurants in Lagos.

We had delivery from The Seasonal a while back but I'm not really into reviewing an actual dine-in spot by their delivery one time.

We ended up here as we had a vegetarian in our group and the vegetarian place we wanted to go to was closed for holidays.

It was fine. I guess. Nothing was overly good. Although the vegetarian dish was super weird. It was this odd mishmash of random things. Overall inauthentic and strange.

I ordered chicken rendang. I mean... there was chicken in it, but I don't know what definition of rendang they're going by. Mine was a bowl of grey slop. Totally unappetizing to look at. It tasted fine, but not like rendang at all. Just some basic European-style "curry". It had none of the spices I'm familiar with in rendang from Malay or Indonesian restaurants. Also, it was absolutely swimming in sauce. Like a soup. In retrospect, it was honestly far closer to a bad Thai green or massaman curry. I suspect perhaps that is what I got. I can't think of any other explanation for how you can screw up rendang so that it is completely unrecognizable. I also am convinced they have no idea what nasi lemak rice is. They served me some bland white rice with a bit of toasted coconut on top. At the very least, it should have pandan, coconut, sambal, egg and anchovies.

Nasi lemak is a dish on its own. Please Google a basic recipe for it before saying on your menu you serve it. It's borderline false advertising. The rendang dish (+ rice) dish is so inauthentic and wrong, it was amazing actually. Not in a good way.

It wouldn't be the first thing they got wrong. When ordering drinks, I asked for a Manhattan. (It is on their menu.) I got a lacklustre Old-fashioned instead, but I could not be bothered to correct it and wait forever again. I honestly don't know if it was the server, the bar, or the kitchen that is responsible for all the mix-ups.

The coco prawns were fine. At least it was the same as what the menu suggests. No serious complaints there.

The place did fill up by the time we were finished, but I can't see myself ever going back again. There are marginally better "Asian fushion" spots in Lagos. This is not authentic South-east Asian at all. Maybe their Indian dishes are better, but there are loads of places to go for...

We went for a pre wedding anniversary meal at the seasonal, there was four people in our party, me and the wife, mother and step father, we were the only four people in the restaurant at peak time of 9pm on a Friday evening, the waiter was extremely helpful and friendly, we had 1 dish out the four wich was the lamb that came on a sizzling plate, the other 3 dishes were excellent, the lamb dish was terrible so we all tried the dish and confirmed it was terrible with 2 of the party spitting the lamb out on the plate, when the bill came, we complained that it was terrible and wasn’t happy paying for the dish for the waiter to turn round and say there was 5 pieces of lamb and it was all eaten! This restaurant has only inspected how many pieces of lamb that’s left but demanded we paid as we all eat the lamb! What sort of an establishment is this, as it was a special occasion and we were paying for mother and step farther it completely ruined the evening, if the restaurant owner is reading this personally then you need to train your chef, or source some quality lamb as this was not only discussing produce and discusting behaviour, they fid offer us an alternative but no one came half way to ask us if food was ok and we’re not having another dish 25mins after the other 3 have finished I feel very anoid and no excuses off the management will ever be enough for an excuse We will never return Thanks for a...

The Seasonal in Lagos has become one of our absolute favorite go-to restaurants, and it’s easy to see why. Nestled in the heart of old town’s charming cobbled streets, it offers an ambiance that’s both inviting and intimate.

From the moment we step through the door, we’re warmly welcomed by Roni and Alvin, who always make us feel like cherished guests. Their hospitality is the heart and soul of The Seasonal, and their genuine care ensures that every visit is memorable.

The food here is simply spectacular. Each dish reflects the freshness of the ingredients and the creative genius of the kitchen. The menu offers a delightful blend of unique flavors that celebrate the best of each season. Though we have loved everything we’ve ordered over the last few years, we often find ourselves returning to our favorites: the avocado salad, coconut salmon, and green curry. These dishes and our dining experiences are consistently outstanding.

We bring all of our visitors here, and they rave about both the impeccable service and culinary excellence. One of our friends recalls her special meal and friendly connection with Roni frequently, as a highlight of her trip. The Seasonal is a place we’ll continue to return to time and time again. Be sure to enjoy...

We are visiting Lagos and decided to walk downtown and get some food. I made a reservation (wasn’t sure how busy it would be). There were only 2 people at that time and we sat down to our table. Another family of 4 walked in off the street—and were served first even though we were there first. We sat down at 6:30 pm and received our food at 7:30. Others who came in after us were served at the same time. I first started to think that we should leave, but there was only 1 server who made the drinks/set the table/placed the food orders/and served the food. It. Was. Worth. The. Wait!!!! There was a mistake on my vegan green curry (was chicken) but the order was corrected in 5 minutes. The food was so flavorful, spice was perfect, and the server was professional. My husband enjoyed his Jamaican mule. My red sangria was tasty. We couldn’t stay for desert (other plans), but we picked a GREAT spot for vegan/vegetarian options. A MUST if you are visiting! Thank you!!!!
