Besides being just an average club in a small town in Portugal that even charges a €10 entry fee, Bon Vivant has shown itself to be a place that protects abusers rather than its customers.
During my visit, I personally witnessed a shocking situation: a staff member undressed a girl wearing a dress in front of the entire floor.
When I confronted him, he didn’t deny what had happened. Instead, he resorted to the classic excuse: “she was asking for it.” As any decent person would, I was furious and immediately reported the incident to both security and the manager. They assured me the issue would be handled. However, when speaking with the girl who was attacked, the managers dismissed the whole incident as nothing more than “a joke in poor taste.”
Let’s be clear: this was a man over 40 who pulled at a young woman’s dress for more than 40 seconds. Even if it had been a mistake (which it clearly wasn’t), he had plenty of time to stop and apologise—something he never did. Instead, the manager attempted to calm the girl down and even tried to “buy her off” with a bottle of water.
Minutes later, the aggressor was seen outside casually chatting with the same security staff we had reported the incident to, acting completely normal and even calling the victim “crazy.”
It became obvious to me that the management had no intention of taking real action, and the staff member’s behaviour suggested this was far from an isolated case.
To sum up: • Ladies, this bar is absolutely unsafe and not women-friendly. • Gentlemen, please don’t support an establishment that tolerates and protects this kind of behaviour.
Btw, I saw the manager response to this review but sadly I can’t reply to it so let’s go step by step. “There's no basis in what you're saying” I was there. “There was a joke with a gas bottle” so ig undressing a person in front of 40 people is hilarious. “her friend tried to create a problem by blackmailing her with free drinks” she was alone. The person that blackmailed her with drinks was the man who did that terrible act.
I found it funny how everyone chooses the boy side when there are EYE WITNESSES supporting...
Read moreThis was my WORST experience ever at a bar. My friends and I arrived and went up to the rooftop and there wasn’t any tables available so they told us to wait for five minutes and they’d get us a table. We wait and then these other people walk right in and take the spot that opened up and the waiter didn’t really do anything about it, just kinda shrugged it off. Then we go downstairs and they don’t have a full menu of drinks so we go back up to the top to order and nobody helps us. We’re just standing by the bar waiting for like 15minutes and the waiter PHYSICALLY PUSHES us before rudely saying “move, you’re in the way” when we were literally just standing at the bar (which I feel like is pretty normal at most bars???) When he came back around I said I don’t want to be in the way but can we have our order taken or be told a better place to go to order so we’re out of their path but he just ignored me. We eventually just had to leave without ordering. Also, the atmosphere was sooooo off. I heard it was five stories so I thought it would have a fun scene with people going around, playing games, dancing, etc. but there was none of that. It was simultaneously too empty to be fun and too crowded to just have a nice relaxing conversation so I felt super uncomfortable in there. Definitely would...
Read moreThe place has a great atmosphere, with excellent bar staff and really enjoyable music. However, the security management leaves much to be desired. Yesterday, I went there with some friends. We didn’t pay an entry fee, but we did spend over €60 on drinks. At one point, I asked a bouncer if I could step outside with two friends. He agreed, but when we returned, the staff tried to charge us. We explained the situation, but the bouncer denied speaking with us. We pointed out that we had spoken to another bouncer, who then laughed and said, “I don’t work here.” After insisting and explaining again, we were eventually allowed back inside. The worst part was what happened to one of my friends. He went outside several times to smoke, and each time he asked the bouncers for permission, which they granted. However, on his fourth time out, they suddenly refused to let him back in unless he paid. When I tried to intervene, the bouncer bluntly told me, “He’s not entering.” and proceeded to be very rude to that friend of mine. We then asked to speak with the manager and requested the complaint book, but the manager showed no interest in resolving the issue. In a nutshell, great place but the bouncers should...
