Walked past this place the previous evening, and the staff were so damn friendly. We immediately decided to come back to eat the next night, after checking out the menu.
There's a good number of outside tables, which is where we chose to sit, and just as many inside. The guy remembered us and was very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble.
I assume because the place is so new, the menu isn't massive. But the food was sublime. We chose the chicken, which was so tasty with a crispy skin, and came with perfectly cooked fries and, in my case, a large bowl of salad with a delicious dressing. The other choice was grilled vegetables, which also proved to be a large portion and a good selection.
The beer selection was perfect for me - none of the standard lagers you can get anywhere, but tasty, very tasty, ale. We also had a glass of Kir Royale, which was perfectly refreshing in the late afternoon sun.
All in all, very friendly people, delicious food and a perfect location, a short distance away from the hustle and bustle of the touristy main...
Read moreThe outdoor seating is on a quiet side street, but close enough to the Rua Primeiro de Maio for people watching. We enjoyed a very pleasant dinner with excellent service. We ordered two cocktails out of a nice variety offered and munched on omnipresent peanuts. Cocktails were great and dinner arrived in good time. Most of the dishes here are prepared on a wood fired open grill. I'm told the octopus is local. My wife said it was tender and very tasty. I had the chicken Ceasar salad, which is on real romaine lettuce! (It’s the only place I have found romaine in a restaurant in the Algarve.) And the chicken was very good. It was pulled from their specialty roasted chicken, so I’m sure the whole roasted chicken would be a good choice too. Sides were great, probably the best sweet potato fries I have ever had, and the side dish of roasted vegetables was a great choice. A side of regular French fries were abundant and well prepared. I look forward to coming back to try the Balkan Burger because it looked great on a...
Read moreCame here as family of five with three young children. Ordered focaccia with chorizo, classic chicken, Caesar and a burger. Food took 45 minutes to reach the table while many other tables seated after us had their food arrive. We were not checked on once for this entire time.
Dish advertised as chorizo on focaccia came out with canned olives, sliced chorizo, canned peppers, on pita bread. Three tiny slices.
Portions were small for the price. We were ignored for the duration of service once they saw we weren't happy. Had to get up to ask for water, and takeout boxes. Server paid no attention to us at all. Server tried to tell us our food was delayed because of a large table inside however there was no large table when we sat down, inside was nearly empty and numerous tables that came in after us had their food arrive well before ours.
Absolutely baffled by this experience. We have had so many incredible experiences dining here in Lagos and this was a confusing one. Very...
