This place looks amazing in photos, but that's about it. Obviously, they are trying to attract Instagram type tourists here and it seems to work.
However, the food is nothing special. It isn't bad but it doesn't taste nearly as good as it looks. Service was fine and prompt.
I had the berry pancakes. Tasteless except for the way they drenched them in a very sweet dessert sauce that totally overwhelmed everything. It was like ice cream topping. At least there was a tiny cup of natural yoghurt to cut the sweet. The problem is that the sauce also was oddly flavourless. The berries didn't really come out. It just tasted like mildly berry-flavoured sugar syrup. So cloying.
One pancake on top was soaked completely, and the others were bone dry and lacking any flavour at all. The texture was dense and sticky, not fluffy. Seemed slightly undercooked. I understand there are limitations in making vegan pancakes, but a place that specialises in vegan foods should have something better.
A little pat of butter would not have gone amiss and that should be an option, or provide berry topping on the side so one pancake doesn't soak up most of it.
Not enough fresh fruit. Two raspberries, one strawberry, a few small slices of banana, sprinkling of 5 blueberries, 1/4 of a very dried out passionfruit. (Note: like most fruits in Algarve right now, berries are from greenhouses so do not have strong flavours. Greenhouse fruits are never as good. I don't blame Goji for that, obviously, but providing more fresh fruit could have helped.)
The chicken satay couscous bowl had more flavour and was decent, but it wasn't really chicken satay.
Tea was nice and large. Oat milk cappuccino was not good at all. It was very watery and foam was almost non-existent. As soon as I see latte art on what I ordered as cappuccino, I always get suspicious, and it was confirmed here as seen in my photo. Also, what little weak foam there was clearly had deflated by the time it arrived at my table.
If you are a vegan, I would say to give this place a shot, but otherwise, there seem to be better brunch spots. Not sure it would be worth it to wait in line in summer when it's busy unless you're a vegan and have...

Read moreWe visited Goji yesterday and had a mixed experience. We ordered the Shakshuka Bowl, but it was disappointing—just scrambled eggs with some spices, a tiny bit of tomato and avocado, and three very small pieces of bread. It didn’t resemble traditional shakshuka, which is usually poached eggs in a rich tomato sauce, not scrambled eggs.
The Shroomy Toast was decent, but the portion size was quite small. The drinks were a highlight—large and tasty—but the food was underwhelming, especially considering the price. On top of that, they only accept cash, which is inconvenient.
Overall, not a terrible experience, but definitely disappointing. Wouldn’t rush...
