There’s a choice between two beef pho. One is called “Well Done” (€12) and the other is “Medium” (€13.50). They should instead be called “Meat I Can’t Chew” and “Meat I Can Chew. (Maybe)”
Wife’s chicken pho had pieces of chicken with skin still attached and small bones still inside, very unusual, and not at all tasty. My portion of “beef,” if you can call it that, was LUCKILY so small in size and quantity that there was barely any to eat. Which is a good thing! Because those small pieces of “meat” were nothing but cartilages and tendons, completely non-chewable. I’ve yet to meet a person that enjoys eating tendons and cartilages. And I could understand skin on chicken pieces but… in broth? With small pieces of bone? Why would anyone ever serve that… I have no clue. Doesn’t feel like chef took care of preparing the ingredients well. OH, AND, they ran out of hoisin sauce… A Vietnamese restaurant that runs out of hoisin sauce? Really?! Cmon man… That’s like your staple condiment!
Broth and summer rolls were alright. Although the rolls ought to be a little tighter. They were falling apart all over the plate.
Do yourself a favor, walk for another 5 min to “A Cozinha Vietnamita.” They often forget to not add cilantro upon my and my wife’s request, but at least they have hoisin sauce, and decent pieces of decent beef in their pho...
Read moreAuthentic Asian with high-quality, fresh & local ingredients! Staff is super friendly (and speaks great English), they’re just the right amount of attentive and approachable, allowing you to enjoy your meal at leisure and at the same time you don’t need to chase them down. All our dishes were fresh and tasty: Pho de vaca has the open bone with marrow to add to your broth; the Bao Bun Duck was so tender & yummy we got another to go at the end of our stay; Bibimbap was all GOOD, fresh ingredients really make the difference; local beers and the Limonada Maracuja is highly recommended; Fresh Spring Rolls (aka Salad Rolls) also went down fast, all vegetables were fresh and sauces provided extra zing; Panna Cotta de Macha & Tiramisu rounded out the meal with a rich smoothness that left me wanting more of everything!! This was a fun way to dine in Lisbon, an excellent...

For tourists - the owners are more than fluent in English! Best of all open on a statutory holiday. Despite being incredibly busy we had first class service, and they even divided for us the dishes we were sharing.
The owners have the place decorated with bowls hand painted by their grand parents.
There is incredible attention to detail. For example the mushroom bao bun was green with two kinds of mushroom. The red curry had onions previously marinated in vinegar to temper their acridness, and instead sugar, honey had been used.
They served a lovely white Douro wine at a reasonable price. While we ate inside there is a large outdoor dining area, at the restaurant is on a corner.
Perfect lunch experience - we will definitely return next...
