Cais 1929 — Restaurant in Lisbon

Went with my brother to this location as it has a nice view to the river and the Ferries. But this is all you can say it's positive.

We arrived there and became served quickly with a fruit smoothy and a lemonade. ... the waiter appeared not even 10 minutes later to ask us to pay.... very friendly....

Afterwards he charged me with 20,-€ without loosing any comment or giving me the receipt. After checking this right afterwards, I complained and asked multiple times for my bill (even another waiter to assist). Afterwards the previous waiter appeared and apologized for the wrong charge. The correct amount was just 14,-€! Ferries-Terminal!!! LOOOOL!

Asking for toilets its possible but instead let their guests use the restaurant own bathrooms, they redirect you to the public toilets of the the

I mean they can try to fool tourists but not a local person like me, that wanted to show noce spots to his brother (visiting on holidays)!

Anyways it is very bad and horrible that tourists are deliberately ripped off. No...

A bit of a mixed review for this one.

The view and atmosphere is fantastic.

I enjoyed a nice pint of Super Bock lager whilst sitting in the sun and looking at the scenery. One staff member seemed a bit grumpy but we didn't let that ruin a nice evening.

We Went back a couple of days later and planned to have a few drinks and food.

Had one drink and I had the garlic prawns and cod loin.

The garlic prawns were delicious! 5 out of 5.

The cod loin was a big let down sadly. Absolutely swimming in olive oil and tasted rancid. The cod was like chewing gum and I couldn't swallow it.

We tried for an hour to get the attention of a staff member to get more drinks and a dessert but were ignored. Even when we asked for the bill the waiter forgot and we lost more time.

It has the potential to be 5* and so we really hope they can fine tune how they operate.

We would certainly go back but maybe...

My worst experience I had in Lisbon. I was waiting 15 minutes for a waiter and I was still 20 minutes waiting for a caipirinha. The waiters just look straight ahead and the employee who served me didn't say anything at all, he just gave me the menu, which made me see that I was ''one more'' customer. The worst was when I had to go to the bathroom and the bathroom is paid for and it was only when I came back that they asked if I was a customer and if I was sitting outside. Employees have to remember and know who their customers are and then they gave me a token and the manager made a ''joke'' that I didn't find funny. I waited 10 minutes to get the change from my bill and the person in charge made a joke again, laughed. The Manager is not responsible for her staff and restaurant/bar. Worst place in Lisbon to go, I don't recommend...
