I don’t recommend this restaurant. We were waiting for 1 hour and they didn’t bring any food or drink even though we already ordered. Then we need to ask the waiter to check for it but she never came back to give us an answer. Finally what we heard from the restaurant’s manager was that they had some problems with the tablet so our order was not processed. The point is they have many staffs but no one was approaching us to confirm our order during 1 hour without anything on the table. Due to the Covid19, all the restaurants must close at 13pm and we just only got known about their mistakes at about 12h40. This was very annoying. To be honest, the principle thing which make this restaurant crowded is the nice place (they have a beautiful esplanade at the Praça do Comércio). Because of that, somehow they don’t think that it is necessary to improve their client service. When I complained directly to the manager, she insisted that It was not about their service, only about the technical error. This kind of situation sometimes happended to me in other restaurants but I never got that angry cuz the staffs often came to confirm if we have food yet or to explain why our order comes late and gave us some small discounts at the end. Time is precious so please don’t waste people’s time, especially when they are your clients. They may choose to consume at your restaurant because of some attractive superficial aspects but they surely never want...

This review should have been done a few weeks back, no thanks to my phone service. Apologies to all those people who contributed to awesome dining experiences on two nights at Can the Can (Lisboa) on 17 Sep 23 and 7 Oct 23. We could have sat outside in the Square in pleasant temperatures with an accompanying breeze. Instead, we chose to sit inside this funky and inviting restaurant with its elegant, unique and quirky interior design which creates an entirely different atmosphere to that experienced outside. On both occasions we were made welcome, given excellent service, well fed (…for me, the bacalhau with chick pea purée was outstanding, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their menu choices. The selection of wine and port was equally diverse, complimenting the menu). The staff were totally au fait with the menu and were both professional and personable, happy to attend to our requirements and laugh with us. It wouldn’t be right to praise one or two individuals, so…..to : Diogo, Terese, Leticia, Daniel, Rafael, Fernanda, Anthony, Afac and Puloc….. thanks for looking after us so well- you turned both nights into special occasions. We commend the staff, and recommend this restaurant to visitors to Lisbon.

Thanks again to all, hope you remember this small Australian bunch....

This restaurant owner should be ashamed of their practices. The food is expensive, but that is fine as we are tourists. The problem is it’s not very good. Calamari was not hot, cod was tasteless. Cheese bruschetta had almost no cheese and the chicken confit was so dry that it was nearly impossible to chew.

Now here is the kicker… For the entire meal they have a designated employee try to hard-sell there products. He started pitching their tincture bottled sources prior to our cocktails and this lasted until we paid our bill. Ick, who wants that! And this is not the typical Lisbon way of enjoying a meal out. We couldn’t wait to leave. It is a lovely location and too bad it is spoiled by a greedy business owner.

To finish off our experience, the ladies were yelled at when attempting to use the restroom, because they didn’t believe they had ate there. We were one of only four tables seated fir lunch. Maybe it’s no surprise to even the employees that anyone...

I recently dined at a this restaurant in Lisbon, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. The food had so many flavors that showcased the high quality of the ingredients. The kitchen operated with impressive speed, delivering each dish promptly. Not only was the culinary experience outstanding, but the staff's friendliness, attentiveness, and efficiency added an extra layer of warmth to the dining atmosphere. Their commitment to customer satisfaction truly stood out. The restaurant's cool interior design provided a chic and inviting ambiance, enhancing the overall dining experience. Coupled with its great location, it's a perfect spot to indulge in delectable cuisine. I highly recommend trying their pastel de nata; it's a delightful treat that captures the essence of Portuguese culinary excellence. A special shoutout to Letizia and the entire team for creating such a memorable experience. Their dedication undoubtedly contributes to the restaurant's success.

My I had an outstanding experience at Can to Can in Lisbon! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was above and beyond. The staff made us feel so welcomed and cared for throughout our meal. A special shout-out to Bogdan, who noticed I was struggling a bit while cutting my food. Without hesitation, he came over with something better to help me—such a thoughtful gesture that truly stood out. Our waitress, Catia, was equally attentive, checking in often and even surprising us with a complimentary fresh fruit juice. On top of the excellent service, the food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Every bite was enjoyed, and the overall experience left us with full hearts and happy memories. If you’re in Lisbon, I highly recommend stopping by Can to Can—you’ll be treated with kindness, care, and amazing food!

Can the Can welcomed us to Lisbon on our first day with a wonderful light lunch and even more wonderful service and conversation with Diogo. His passion for their housemade Lusitanian Vermouth and Sardine Garum, explaining the history and production, inspired us to try the vermouth and buy a bottle of both. The food also was just what we wanted to start our introduction to Portugal: crispy octopus fritters with housemade “ketchup,” fried cuttlefish with another special sauce, and the star of the meal - beef pica-pau (but missing the toothpicks) in a briny sauce of pickled tomatoes, carrots, and “pickles” (cucumbers). Order bread, because you’ll want to sop up that sauce and not leave a drop in the bowl. The location on the Praça do Comércio, with its view of the river and people, cannot be matched.
