Best restaurant we’ve tried in Lisbon and one of the best restaurants we’ve been to, period, we even went twice to try more things! Plan ahead and make a reservation (if you can, ask to be seated where they put the finishing touches to the plates. It’s both interesting and it makes you even more hungry). Portions are generous, food is fresh and oh so good. Ambiance is great, place looks nice. We’ve had more bread the first time, I wish we would have bad more the second because the sourdough bread was to die for. The cheese board was super generous and the cheeses were amazing, although we didn’t really know what they were (we should have asked). We’ve had the octopus salad, the pasteis de massa tenra, the grilled cabbage, the piri-piri chicken, the small shrimps from the coast which were a pleasure to eat, the garlic shrimps (the best seafood dish we’ve hever had the pleasure of tasting) and finished with the adult chocolate mousse (the whisky was a nice addition!). The wine selection is nice, prices are average. We did prefer the staff on our first night, but all around a superb experience. 10/10 would recommend, I would honestly go back to Lisbon just to try more of what this...

A Culinary Highlight of Our Iberian Adventure!

We had an absolutely unforgettable dining experience at Restaurant Corrupio in Lisbon. From the moment we arrived, our host Maria made us feel incredibly welcome. She was warm, attentive, and impressively knowledgeable about the local cuisine, guiding us through the menu with passion and insight that only deepens the appreciation for each dish.

Every course we tried was outstanding. The strawberry gazpacho was a refreshing and creative start, followed by a beautifully balanced octopus salad—fresh, tender, and full of flavor. The cod fish pasties were crisp and savory, a true taste of Portugal. But the standout of our entire two-week trip through Spain and Portugal was without question the garlic shrimp with toast. The flavors were bold and perfectly harmonized, and we found ourselves dreaming about it long after the meal ended.

To top it all off, the baby goat rice was rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying—Portuguese comfort food at its finest.

Corrupio is the kind of place that blends soulful cooking with impeccable service, and it became one of the most memorable highlights of our journey. Don’t miss it if...

I never leave negative reviews but this place deserves it big time. We came in randomly with two small babies as the restaurant opened for lunchtime. there was one guest sitting inside, all the other tables empty. we were informed that there were many reservations IN ONE HOUR PLUS, so we were not welcome. it was raining heavily outside at this moment so obviously otherwise we would have left immediately, but we assured the staff that we would be long time gone by that time. With this very unwelcoming and unpleasant start we were finally lead to the smallest table possible not fitting us all. We ordered many starters , two main courses and some wine. The food was delicious, the service and staff were scandalously rude and unprofessional [no ‘thank you’ , no pleasantries, basically rude silence]. They should be all fired!!! I never felt so bad spending my hard earned money at any restaurant as I am a real life foodie and a well traveled person. My friend felt exactly the same. I will never come back and i believe that the others should know how guests are treated at this...

Honestly a bit disappointed by the experience. The food is good, served in good portions - we had the tomato salad with Bacahlau (which was our favorite) and the fish in crockpot (good but not memorable). They use the old trick of serving bread without asking and charging for it if you eat it (we didn’t, but I can see how annoying it can be for some customers), which isn’t really up to the apparent standards of the place. There are very little meat-free options - some of the dishes on google reviews are not on the menu anymore. The venue is cute, love the open kitchen where the platting happens, but they play very loud music. The crowd is mostly tourists from hotels around. I guess I was expecting more after a friend hyped the place to me, but I’d only suggest it if you’re visiting Lisbon and staying in the area.
