I had a delicious lunch in Lisbon, Portugal at Organi Chiado, an organic, vegan restaurant, centrally located, in the downtown area, which sources all its food directly from local farmers and producers. All the food is fresh, and free of chemicals and preservatives. I started with an appetizer combo of a homemade, cashew based cheese wheel, with fresh, moist, cut squares of homemade, gluten-free rice bread, and the most delicious Portuguese olives one can imagine, garnished with lime zest and minced garlic. I think that Portuguese olives are my favorite! They have such a rich, dynamic, and distinctively unique flavor! The waiter told me that the olives had been freshly delivered directly, earlier that day, by the olive farmer. I followed that up, with a generous, delicious, and satisfying main dish plate, comprised of all organic, baked carrots, baked red onion, baked sweet potato, baked tomato, fresh quinoa salad, large, fresh avocado slices, fresh raw red cabbage, arugula, walnuts, balsamic glaze, and crisp salad greens. I had a refreshing, cold glass of organic strawberry lemonade, made with the pulp of lemons and strawberries. This restaurant is a wonderful destination in Lisbon for vegans or anyone who appreciates vibrant, organic, farm to table food. Organi Chiado features both outdoor and indoor seating. It is best to walk here, or take public transportation, as it is in the heart of pedestrian and car crowded downtown Lisbon. Leave your car at home. It is up two large banks of steps on the side of a hill from the street. Photos, copyright: Joyce...

A true hidden gem 💎 in downtown Lisbon. Perfect for a quick dinner after work or a longer meet up with friends.

Tugged away from the Main Street, you can enjoy a slide breeze on the terrace or cuddle up inside.

I had the veggie no-bread burger served with a chickpea patty, brown rice and greens topped with delicious mayonnaise, a drizzle of pesto and crunchy potatoes chips. On the side, mainly for the visual senses, you’ll find a juicy slide of orange with beetroot.

To sum it up: Each bite is a culinary delight!! You can taste a variety of different flavors perfectly blended. The mayonnaise made of soy, lemon and vegetable oil was the icing on the cake. 😋

I highly recommend eating here at least once, especially if you have never tried plant-based. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Here are a few ideas:

🍜Starters: bread with home made salsas, guacamole or soup of the day

🍝Main: pasta with pesto (with our without gluten), tofu salad, veggie burger or one of the daily changing surprise dishes

I promise you will leave with a HUGE GRIN on your face and your belly with be very happy too. No bloating, cramps or uneasy feeling afterwards. That’s the beauty of healthy, raw, process-free food.

And I didn’t even tell you the best of all. Food comes super quick, which is an added benefit especially when you’re really...

Delightful organic vegan restaurant located in the heart of Lisbon!

Food* This place earned a very RARE 5 stars from us for its food! The Rice bread is recommended and wow is it delicious!! We ordered the Risotto and the Veggie Chili. The veggie chili was a knockout, home run, and all the sides complimented it so well—the apples with the delicious sauce and cashews, the fresh side salad with balsamic and pomegranate and delicious rice. The Risotto was great (not as amazing as the chili) but tasted wonderful and was garnished w/ nutritional yeast and had portobello mushrooms. We got every food group in this dinner! We also got a Pina Colada that was so delicious and so fresh!

Atmosphere** Great setting with several tables inside and a good amount outside. The lighting was not too bright and just the right setting. There is parking nearby and on the street. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the limited space inside but we can’t really fault them for that!

Service** Quick, friendly, and the waiter was prompt to our table. We ordered a drink and it came really quick and was sooo fresh!

Price$$ Incredible price for food this good! It was only slightly over 12USD, which is below the $15USD that gets a place...
