We found it expensive considering the food and the show offered. It is not possible to choose the menu, and the first two courses were seafood-based. The first dish, a seafood velouté with cilantro and tobiko roe, had a strong fishy taste and was poorly prepared. The second dish, grilled cod with a sauce made of cod, egg, and onion, was also poorly executed. The only acceptable dish was a pork steak, accompanied by a crème brûlée for dessert.
Despite the waiter’s kindness—he offered to change the dishes—it was already too late (I believe they should inform guests about the menu in advance).
As for the show, it was unprofessional and lacked elegance, organization, attitude, and sensuality. The belly dancer had to interrupt her performance because her pants fell down. Another dancer, who performed a striptease, did so in a rather clumsy and inelegant manner. On the other hand, the drag performer stood out with an excellent attitude and an entertaining show, while the mistress of ceremonies impressed us with her beautiful singing voice.
In summary, the show lacked variety, elegance, and sensuality. Considering the content provided, I believe an appropriate price would be 30 euros instead of 80. I would not...
Read moreTo be honest, we didn't expect much before visiting Maxime since we thought it might just be a simple bar with simple snacks, but they absolutely exceeded our expectations even to such a level I'd say it has been one of the best dining experiences we've had in Portugal (and we've been to many restaurants in Portugal).
The food was divine - simple and elegant, yet the taste was perfectly balanced. Dishes were bursting with flavour, the meats were perfectly cooked, tender and juicy, the servings were beautiful, and the service itself was excellent.
And, of course, the surprise acts made the whole experience incredible! In Maxime, you'll completely forget where you are - it feels like a Manhattan restaurant, not a restaurant in Lisbon. We enjoyed every moment and will definitely return to Maxime in the future, highly recommended for anyone who's looking for a...
Read moreAte the ~€50 dinner along with the show and it was an amazing time! (2.5 hrs roughly, from 2030 to 2300). Make your reservation earlier so you can get a better seat to view the show. We were in the back and had to crane our necks and move around to see things clearly.
The dinner was 5 courses and very filling - serving portions are quite larger for a prefixe style meal. The pita bread didn't feel very fresh but that was the only qualm. The croquettes and tartar and burger and ice cream were all delicious. It came with free wine and water too, which is a luxury. The servers were very attentive and kept refilling our glasses frequently.
Thank you Maxime hotel and...
