Pata Negra - Steakhouse & Tapas — Restaurant in Lisbon

What a terrible experience this has been…

After reading the reviews, girlfriend, baby and I decided to make a stop for some tapas on our second to last day in Portugal. Worst mistake of the trip yet.

Upon arrival, we had to go and get the baby high chair that was sitting in the doorway by ourselves and only then the waiter came to help.

Once seated it took a while for them to come over and take our order. We asked for a few items and a steak. The waiter went inside and then came back telling us they didn’t have that particular cut of meat today, no biggie we chose another one. No questions asked about how we’d like the steak, but hey we figured it would come medium rare then as this is a « « « steakhouse » » ». We asked for the steak to come at the same time as the tapas, as that would help us not linger with the baby.

Waiter #3 comes with our order, without the steak… we wait and eat our other things which are OK-tier at best and mostly meh. Then we waited another 10 minutes… nobody comes. We then have to once again go inside and get to waiter #2 to ask for our steak, she looks at us with blank eyes and we get that it was never ordered.

She went to the kitchen and ordered it, once again no questions on how we’d like the steak. It came around 15 minutes later to the table with a very uneven medium to rare, which we don’t mind that much but it showed the lack of care.

Then after another 15 minutes we had to go and ask the waiter for our bill and no considerations were made about the delays we faced or the errors they made not even a « sorry ».

All in all, mediocre food, terrible service and all of it for a whopping 75 euros. 0/10 would...

We just almost ate here. But, decided not to.. Phew.!!

The place was empty. Oh, may be, it's too early for dinner, at 6:30pm. Our daughter went to toilet while we were seated. She came back and complainted that both toilets were broken. Oh, maybe, it's just time for service. While studying the menu, we looked up at the ham legs that were hanging and found out that all were fake. Oh, maybe, it could be just a nice decoration. But, there were so many flies in here. Hmm, why.??

I decided to order a tenderloin steak, but wonder how many gram it would be. The waiter said "It's a good size, around 200 or 300 gr. At that moment, we decided to walk out. How, on earth, a good review steakhouse can not answer this common question.

I gave one star.. the day after, google confirmed my review and my review became 5 star.. wtf..!!

There are plenty of good restaurants and tourist trap ones. But, just do not even think about this...

One of the worst experiences I have ever had in any restaurant anywhere I have been,inspite of booking a table 48hrs in advance,we were denied admission,we were 8 minutes late,we walked in and the reservation was cancelled by the most rude person I have ever encountered,inspite of informing the person that we have travelled 40 odd Kms with a baby,he very clearly showed extreme discrimination without any remorse, having lived in different countries never seen or come across such a rude and unethical restaurant owner/or maybe worker....we had been to the place to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary and this single person ruined it.... completely...the dinner was arranged by my son who had specially come from Poland for the occasion... terrible terrible terrible...
