I don’t enjoy questioning whether I experienced racial discrimination or a simple case of mistaken orders when I decided to give Sea Me my business. I’ve been to Lisbon many times and always enjoyed my visits — and definitely stopped by time out market albeit at different vendors. This time, it was Sea Me.
I made 2 entree orders and waited accordingly, for the buzzard. I was handed a bag w sealed boxes and thought that was strange- since most people get trays of food. Coincidently, it had 2 containers so I assumed 2 entrees like I ordered. I walked off and later found 2 containers of plain rice. What are the odds that this mistaken order came from another patron in the middle of a busy tourist zone during dinner time, who only wanted 2 buckets of plain rice from a seafood serving establishment? I wished the bag contained 2 orders of another entree or even 1 order of bread so that I can easily accept the story of coincidence.
I returned to the counter and the guy even insisted that’s what I ordered. Luckily I found my receipt and got the order corrected. Unfortunately this experience soured my meal as I wondered wtf just happened.
In fact, I am adding to this post after reviewing their menu - the carb based sides include tomato rice or bread. I do not see the bucket of plain rice listed anywhere. Maybe it is on the secret...

Came here because of the famous market and realised that the overall market is kind of a tourist trap.. Most restaurants here serve overpriced food so I wouldn’t recommend coming here for a full meal.
Struggled to find seats during peak afternoon hours so decided to sit at the bar counter of this Sea Me shop. Staff was nice and service was okay - that’s why it’s two stars but not one star. I became really scared because I only checked the reviews here after eating 3 oysters.. Many people got food poisoned from it this week including just one day ago. Honestly the oysters tasted okay and now it’s one day later and I’m quite okay, only slight dizziness and fatigue after the meal. Credit to my iron stomach from growing up in third world country I guess.
The pasta is extremely flavourless and the prawns and scallops taste water-logged instead of grilled. Serving is very small as well, I had to go to another place to eat after this. House white is very flat in taste as well.
Very overpriced here and in the market in general.. the shop behind sells lobster at €140+.. crazy rate.. Just go to Maria Catita or Baixamar for much cheaper and better food.
TLDR: avoid here...
Read moreAvoid at all costs! I had literally the worst dining experience of my life. Unfortunately the lady who was serving me at the till made what initially seemed as a small error but soon transpired to be disastrous. She forgot to give me either a receipt for payment or a light up pager. Whilst I stood there to wait for food, it became apparent that they had forgotten about my order! I politely asked when it would be ready to be told I hadn’t ordered at all, that if I didn’t have a pager or receipt I wouldn’t get served my food - even though they never gave me it! When I explained this to another member of staff serving me, they made a mocking baby impression of me, as if to say ‘boohoo’, but I still wouldn’t get my food. This caused the entire restaurant staff and queue to laugh at me. I wanted to sink in humiliation. I showed them the transaction of sale on my banking app to prove I had paid. At this point the lady who served me initially, now returned to accuse me of having a light up pager and refused to admit her mistake. Eventually I did get my food but it was so cold after the entire ordeal and was totally disappointing. Worst tempura quality I have seen. It’s a shame the food is as...
