My wife ordered the salmon, which itself was OK (minus several bones still in) but came with a pretty unappetising side of mushy peas and a small salad. For myself I got a mushroom rice which was bland and full of undercooked peas and somehow cost 14 euros. The baked cheese was nice at least but very small for 11 euros.
The place is definitely a tourist trap - the cheapest bottle of white cost a whole 29 euros! This is more than double the usual price in Lisbon and it was merely drinkable but nothing special.
The woman who served us was very nice and professional but we had a small mixup and she thought we ordered olives that we didn't. She took them away without problem but then seemed to get yelled at by her boss and was stressed the whole time after. It made me wish we'd just kept them in the first place - I don't appreciate them treating their staff this way.
The seating had us like sardines, crammed on a two person table sat inches from the tables beside us and waiters constantly squeezing between. The advertised Fado was nowhere to be seen more than an hour after it was billed to start. At least the view was pretty.
Appreciate that the menu had an English translation but some of the translation was really poor - massa vegetables does not translate to "vegetarian apple"(??).
When asking to pay by card we were told only inside, so we headed in then proceeded to be largely ignored and then in the way of everyone else before someone bothered to take our money.
Ate at several traditional places around Lisbon and this was quite clearly the worst of them yet also the most expensive....
Read moreTo say that I am delighted with the real Portuguese food I had here this afternoon.lis an understatement...I was hungry for a real meal.in a city which I had noticed only the smell of fried spices from other countries ,I was anxious to try out real Portuguese cuisine..the food was really flavourful and tasty ..coming from years of the basque traditional cooking living in the Basque country (where cooking and food is almost a way of life)I was missing real food then we stopped here ..to our delight ...real wine ..real coffee..real vegetables and real service .. professional staff and authentic..the things you expect from real restaurants(:Lisboa seems to be full of pop up food places serving the recent explosion of tourism)clean toilets ...no hassle from the staff good recommendations to try out the food which they considered for us ..the children with us also were very satisfied..and collectively left a tip to the staff ..for me after six days in Lisbon in a sea of wafting pongs of overfried meats and surplus sugar ..this place hit the spot ..thank...
Read moreTonight was our last dinner in Lisbon and we where looking for a nice authentic dinner. Unfortunately it was our worst dinning experience. The host was a bit pushy but we sat down as we where convinced it's the best. The bread was old and when we complained we were told that all the bread is the same....the sardine pate was more of a tomato paste than a pate and the olives was not a good quality. My wife had the steak which was ok but very oily and not tasty, and me and my daughter shared the Seafood rice which was very disappointing. The dish was bland, basically rice mixed with tomato sauce and 3 black mussels and some prawns that was frozen to long, definitely not worth 28 euros. We left most of our food and nobody asked if there was a problem. We spend more than 70 euros on terrible last dinner in Lisbon. Please avoid as there are many other great...
