Short summary: this is one of the best restaurants I've eaten in ALL my travels.

My husband and I ate here the first night we were in Lisbon. We hadn't been recommended it, we were just hungry and in the area. We didn't have a reservation and on a Saturday night, they were so kind and were able to seat us.

Wow wow wow we were blown away—everything was divine. The dishes weren’t overly complicated and I loved that I could taste every single component. The potatoes where given as much care as the protein, the garnishes that looked simple packed a punch.

I heard several tables rudely complain about the wait time. It’s a small, family-run business and they are extremely busy. You can literally taste the love and skill that goes into each dish. It’s worth the wait, just order some more drinks and enjoy the atmosphere!

I loved this place so much that when my husband had to leave a day early for a last-minute work trip, I came back to eat here on my own. I was very temped to order the octopus again but decided to try something new and got the Porco Alentejana which was, not surprisingly, insanely good.

Thank you Fam Kitchen, you all...

The Fam Kitchen is our family's favorite home cooked Portuguese food!

It's hard for a family with kids to eat restaurant food every night, especially when it's not something you're used to. However, we were so happy with the service and food, we came back twice within a week.

In the appetizers, we keep coming back for the shrimp (gambas) and clams (ameijoas). They were delicious 😋 I came from a coastal town in China and have always craved for simple but delicious seafood. This place has hit the spot for me. I can eat here everyday.

My kids loved the tagiattelle with meat. They ordered the same thing twice this week. My younger son was able to finish an adult portion because he liked it so much.

My husband loved the salted cod with shredded potatoes, scrambled eggs and fried rice (bacalhau a bras). It's a dish Anthony Bourdain recommended when visiting Portugal and tasted great.

We loved this place for the simple home cooking that tasted fantastic and everyone got what they wanted! Staff was very nice.

Wish we had enough time to come back for the third time. Thank you to the staff for making such...

I would be careful when ordering here if you don’t speak the language. I ordered off the fish section, the bacalhau a bras…not expecting any meat since it’s not listed (the English menu doesn’t say there is meat in this dish). It came out with a large piece of bacon and bacon bits on it. Not cool since I don’t eat pork for religious reasons. Since it’s a family owned place and I wasn’t sure if I made the mistake bc of language barrier and because I didn’t want to waste the food, I didn’t say anything. I removed everything that was touching the bacon and ate around. I should have said something because it really ruined the dish and experience for me. Honestly it felt gross. Assuming it’s okay to add meat especially bacon (or anything not listed explicitly on the menu for the item) to a customers is really not okay given religious and other dietary restrictions are very common. Reminder to everyone to take extra precautions with your food when you’re traveling to a place with a different food culture and language that...
