H5 TEXAS BURGER -Avenida — Restaurant in Lisbon

This little burger joint doesn't have a 4.9 for nothing! My colleague and I visited H5 specifically because of its high reviews, and we were not disappointed. TLDR: definitely go here!

It's a small location, but at 6PM when we arrived we were early and the only patrons, so it was a very calm experience. The decor is adorable - photos of thousands upon thousands of patrons, enjoying their food, some who've noted the countries that they are from. The staff are friendly and the service is prompt.

The food itself was delicious and the price point is awesome (everything is so expensive in Lisbon, and Europe in general, but this price is more than fair). My colleague had the classic, and I went with the pulled pork, again based on the reviews. Both were incredibly good. I need to make specific mention of the 'Texas' sauce, which is made in house: it's AWESOME. It's very familiar, but at the same time unique. I had a little chat with our server about the ingredients, and I won't say it here, but trust me - the sauce alone is worth the trip. You get it with the fries and on some of the burgers.

My only tiny note: the fries. They are cut well and the potatoes themselves are a great flavor. They are halfway there. But, they are generally undercooked and unevenly cooked (I got a few 'raw' ones). I'm a little pickier with my potatoes (being a Belgian and all). My colleague really liked them, so the fries are not at all a 'deal breaker.' But, if the restaurant is using the double-frying method, then they need to be fried a little longer at both stages. After 10 hours of constant traveling we just wanted to eat something delicious and comforting so one of my colleagues said let’s try this place.

Around 20 of us got there at once (keep in mind it’s not a big space) and it was not empty to begin with, but the waiter made it work (super sweet guy with amazing problem solving skills, and a positive mindset).

He took our orders (which was challenging for such a big group for one person). He gave us the best costumer experience and service I have ever witnessed! He was funny, helpful, chatted with us, kind and really dedicated to his job.

Later on we found out that he is the owner of the place. When I say that he poured his whole soul and existence in this restaurant I’m not joking. And you can really tell.

The food: Most delicious burger I have ever had(and I’m a big fan and judge of burgers). They get every ingredient fresh and they also cook it fresh for you. It tastes so comforting and overal just amazing. The portions are great and they also match the prices well. The meat is juicy, the veggies are fresh, the cheese was perfectly melted and the bun was just perfect and so shiny I could almost see myself. It was a culinary experience to eat here ( I mean it the most positive way possible)

They have a super dedicated team working hard and it really shows. I really hope I will be able to come more times here until I’m staying in Lisbon.

Very good restaurant but I dislike an incident that occurs. It was the 09/10/2022 after the marathon.

Theire was a misunderstanding between me and the waiter and he ordered for me two huge plate (I only need one because this is huge).

After explanations, I was convenient and decide they keep my food for tonight.

But they made me pay during my lunch. I can understand I have to pay for both meets just after the lunch but I won't run just after finishing my lunch (and after a marathon and big lunch.....). So this lack of trust to make me pay during I'm having my lunch, I dislike. And I was convenient, I gave the solution to reserve my second food for tonight.

I came back the evening for the dinner to enjoy my second meet. I also order a drink (coca or juice, no alcolhol or expensive drink) and at the end of my dinner, they ask me to pay for the drink. I pay without asking something but I was thinking, after that, they could offer me.

I really like the food there and I think the service is clearly not bad normaly. Incident can occur too. But I dislike the way they manage it. So I invite the team to just improve this point. So I recommand this restaurant but I also invite the the team to improve the way they manage this kind...
