Bubble tea and snacks for people who don't know what really good milk tea should taste like and don't have experience with authentic Chinese/Taiwanese food. Very Westernized for the European palate.
Or maybe I just was there on a bad day.
If you serve xiao long bao, please do it right. It's not difficult. I saw multiple other reviews here talking about the soy sauce and lack of proper vinegar (this is important!), as well as the owner's excuse that "Well, this shop is for bubbletea, not food!" Why do you serve food then? The dumplings themselves are actually not bad which was pleasant surprise, but not everything Chinese should be with soy sauce! It's just a simple condiment change that makes a huge difference.
Milk tea did not seem balanced properly. Too much milk, not enough black tea flavour. Boba were too mushy & sticky (overcooked). Not QQ.
Decor is fine, I guess. It's clean, bright, and simple. But it looks like a child's bedroom or a children's space museum/nursery; fairly juvenile. I am guessing they are trying to appeal to young teenagers, anyway. Seating is very uncomfortable and strange. Staff was rude, have no idea about Chinese food, and are very confused when you ask for the proper condiments -- which they do not have, I guess.
Maybe just stick to your mid boba tea if you don't care about the quality of your hot food snacks and then get defensive when people have constructive suggestions and opinions about it. It is reading the owner's responses to 1-3 star reviews here that make me not want to give it a second chance. I would hope a place like this would be more open to criticism/opinions from the people's whose cuisine they are serving.
It is a great spot for people who have no idea about authentic Chinese food or Taiwanese bubble tea -- so most Europeans and non-Asian tourists will like it. But for people who know good Chinese food and are familiar with high-quality Taiwanese bubbletea, this place doesn't...
Read moreMax here, your local guide in Lisboa. Summary: (5/5) Absolute recommendation. Great taste, very good price, great service, and selection. Found my new favorite bubble tea store.
Detailed: After years in the US, I had adopted the habit of regularly getting bubble tea. However, many places, like Italy or Brazil just seem to not succeed in making good bubble tea. I have had my fair share of disappointing experiences here in Lisbon, too, and was about to just assume I could not enjoy good bubble tea here. But then I found TwoToo.
Taste: (5/5) What else is there to say, the bubbles are great and cooked completely soft, the matcha is good quality, the syrups are great. And the sweetness good. It's a very high quality bubble tea.
Selection: (5/5) If you dot find anything here, no one can help you. They have almost everything, aside from cheese foam I think. Great choices.
Price: (5/5) Had far more expensive bubble tea in Lisbon. In fact, the price is suoer appropriate. Really good.
Service: (4/5) Friendly, rapid. One point less because they were not ready to sell when I showed up half an hour after they opened.
Atmosphere: (5/5) Super lovely in case you're looking to sit in.
Awesome....
Read moreI recently visited this boba shop, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. Having been to numerous boba stores, I can confidently say that this establishment falls short in several key areas. The drinks lacked any discernible flavor and tasted more like plain milk with added food coloring, which was not only unappealing but also far from the rich, layered flavors you expect from a quality boba shop. Additionally, the tapioca pearls were undercooked, resulting in a chewy, flavorless texture that detracted from the overall experience. Considering the premium prices, the quality of the boba was exceptionally poor. While the staff were friendly, and the store itself boasted a pleasant ambiance, these positives could not make up for the subpar quality of the drinks. Overall, there seems to be little reason to visit this shop if you’re seeking a satisfying boba...
