Artisani Gelato — Restaurant in Ponta Delgada

I can say without exaggeration that I have encountered the worst service in my life here. Especially one really arrogant woman, everything seemed to be bothering her. At first we waited really long - can happen when it’s full but it really wasn’t…Dirty tables everywhere our whole stay - even though that people left ages before…Really arrogant behaviour when we were ordering…We ordered two breakfast plates and coffees. After 25 minutes we were brought breakfast for one and one coffe. After another 5 minutes chocolate cake - part of breakfast for the second person…After ages after the other one got his breakfast finally as well. Don’t get how they can bring dessert first plus food for one person and then after a long time food for the other one. But that would be the least thing bothering me. Everytime something was brought to me I said thank you - not once there was some answer to that. Five year old children know better how to act…Then I came to the bar ask for a coffe that was probably forgotten. I kindly ask if i can have it - the waitress raised her voice and stared arrogantly blaming me that i didn’t order that and so one - i was quite shocked. Probably some misunderstanding, really don’t see why not to be polite about that. If you want to have a nice breakfast I suggest to go somewhere else. Picture yourself turning up to a government department customer service centre - tax, automobiles, whatever - a few minutes before they are due to head off for a long lunch break. That's the sort of warm hospitality we received when we visited this place for breakfast.

Eggs benedict were served cold. Banana pancakes were a good effort stymied by the thick layer of cold peanut butter. I can see what they were going for but it falls down on texture, despite the good flavour mix.

Budgets were spent on quality interior design and lots of blonde wood, with nothing left over to teach staff to use an espresso machine. So, sadly, it's another case of ecological death by a thousand Nespresso pods...albeit from a very shiny machine with a lever to add Italian authenticity to your environmental embarrassment.

Very rude service and uncomfortable atmosphere. There was only one person working, so I understand that it was stressful. We tried to ask her politely when we were ready to order and apologized when she told us she needed time. When she came to our table the angrily told us that she was alone and didn’t write down any of our orders. When she left, we decided to just leave and cancelled our orders. As a server myself, I understand that the work can be stressful at times, but I would never take it out on my customers. We went down to Azores forever diner instead where we got a nice breakfast and then pancakes in Dondué. It was a lovely and welcoming experience and I recommend opting for those...
