Entering CASCARA is like stepping into a beautiful Parisian cafe. The decor blends ultra modern lighting with original richly ornamented wood shelving and floor tiles. It is a treat for the senses! Outside boasts a spacious patio with shade and cushioned seating. The servers (especially Hugo) are friendly and helpful and speak English. The menu is breath of fresh air - it features classics such as Croque Monsieur, Eggs Benedict, but also unusual healthy options such as a tasty savory chickpea pancake. The portions are very generous. The delicious egg and avocado sandwich came in warm, toasted homemade sourdough (which is also available for purchase every day except Sunday). Very beautiful space, and I was pleasantly surprised when I read about their philosophy. Simple food, made from scratch with real ingredients.

Unfortunately, almost everything on the menu had gluten, so I asked for options. Waiter gave me a stiff "we serve what we serve" response that took me completely off guard. Zero effort to give me a recommendation or suggest a simple change to any of the items on the menu.
