Fish 22 — Restaurant in Ponta Delgada

Maybe if you go there at lunchtime, the meals will be freshly prepared and hot. But we went in the evening and were served food that had been sat there all day. The staff didn't put it in the microwave before serving and so we ate cold fish soup and cold main meals. As it appears the food hadn't been stored properly or heated up, both of us started to feel unwell soon after consuming the food. We continued to have stomachache and nausea for the next several hours. Luckily, we didn't end up in hospital that night after eating bad fish and meat.

Also, the price was too high. We paid almost 40 euros for the experience of food poisoning. We kicked ourselves for not leaving immediately before deciding to stay and eat at this place.

The only positive is that the staff were all pleasant and smiley to us. However, we didn't appreciate them talking amongst themselves complaining about their working conditions in our presence as it made us feel...

After 15 trips to Europe that required enduring the obligatory overnight flight from Salt Lake City Utah, USA to Paris or Amsterdam plus a several hour flight to Lisbon and in this case a brief flight to Ponta Delgada I finely found a steak/sauce that makes the hellacious drudgery worth it. Fish 22 should be called Bife 22 because the carne comes in a molho that is so tasty it would make your shoes more than palatable. Your grandmother would shed tears because she would realize she has been Trumped. Just to make certain there is no misunderstanding, the bife molho would even make shoes that have been worn throughout San Francisco a delicacy fit for someone who has awoken after taking the Red pill. It was an amazing experience to eat at Fish22! When I arrived, between lunch and dinner, they were initially only serving two items from the menu, but the women behind the counter instantly offered to grill me some fish when I asked if they had any. I got a huge plate of food and a beer for 12.90€ a very reasonable prize for such an lovely meal. The woman in the restaurant was so helpful and amazing, she took time to explain the fish I was having (mediterranean parrotfish) showing me a picture of it and explained the taste.
