We stumbled across this very local place by chance shortly after arriving in town. Passing by this unassuming restaurant I noticed there was not a tourist sitting inside... Instead, nearly every table was full of Portuguese locals ( I assumed) knocking back glasses of red wine and hearty plates of seafood. Both waiters , old pros in the game were funny and waggish and accepting of my Spanish and rather clumsy Portuguese. An excellent mixed salad was soon produced along with plates of very nice grilled sea bass with a full compliment of boiled potatoes. We washed these treats down with a chilled liter of their house white which at 4.50 Euros was astounding value in itself... We split an excellent flan desert and left a tip which brought the bill for an evening of fun and very good eating to 45 Euros...It doesn't get much better...

This is a very VERY local establishment. We got a recommendation from the ticket lady at the nearby Palacio da Bolsa. If you are looking for service and to feel special this is not the place for you. The day we came it was full of families and the noise level was off the charts. Frankly we were over tourist food so this was a bit of a welcome change. The menu is plain and the food likewise, but very tasty. Service is robust and the maître’d (likely owner) had a wry sense of humour. The hand written special menu is in Portuguese so if that’s your thing you will need to translate- we just ordered grilled meat with rice, chips and a couple of green leaves as a nod to salad from the main menu y and frankly for 11 euros you can’t complain. It was tasty enough and the rice actually very good, as was...

The restaurant has 10 seats on their small sidewalk patio and a very large dining room. They are very busy with locals and the staff does not speak English. Their regular menu comes with translation to a few European languages. However, their daily specials menu which is extensive is only in Portugese. Most customers order from the daily special since their lunch special meals are about €6.50 each. The food was very mediocre. If your priority is a cheap meal you might want to consider this place. The meals in the photos include an Americano, a large beer, tge bread and "condiments" and 2 lunch specials fried squid, and a beef dish that the waiter decided that I should have since everyone likes it. Server was a bit rough around the edges... total cost was €20.50 and...

If you want authentic food in Porto, you have to come here. We have tried many different restaurants around the city. Some of them were the very pricey ones by the water with an amazing view, and some were popular because they looked cute. This place screams traditional Portuguese food. The food was absolutely incredible and the service top-notch. Our waiter made sure that we enjoyed the food and even gave me a recommendation for wine. This is the best codfish (bacaluha) I’ve had in Porto. The wine is also super cheap and incredible. You have to come get this place a try. Giving this place five stars and hope you all enjoy
