We went to this place after seeing the reviews, very disappointing that so many have rated this so high. How do standards increase without honesty. Red flags for Indian food: a) bright red dishes means focus on look rather then taste. B) when waiter asks how hot you like it, how can you just add heat , it means the base sauce is bland and hot sauce added after? Surely the heat levels come from the spices and are intrinsic in the make up of the dish. C) too many gushing reviews without any proper critique The sauce used on the Rohan Josh tasted like the tadka (tempering) was done with smaller amounts of spices, and perhaps not enough onions One of my friends had a lamb biryani and struggled to find the meat and way too hot, my other friend ordered jalfrazzi and this dish is naturally hot, but added heat made it unpleasant. The good points, the Pani Puri was nice, breads were nice enough too. The samosa was a chicken samosa , unusual they are normally veg or lamb, the chicken was too dry. One last thing ,.and I worry about this but, please have staff serving to meal use deodorant, not his fault if he has been forced to wear certain clothes and it's hot, but as the owner you have a responsibility to make it easier on your staff...
Read moreThe staff was polite, but there are a lot of minuses. 1. The waiter does not know the dishes, I asked what dishes are not spicy, the waiter pointed to a dish with shrimps in tomato sauce. They brought the order, it turned out that it was spicy, no, not even spicier than the curry that my boyfriend ordered, although I asked for it not spicy. I could not eat it because of the pain in my stomach from the spiciness, I do not understand why the waiter said that it was not spicy food if in fact it was spicy. 2. Instead of two portions of bread, they brought only one. 3. We waited for our order for 1.5 hours, people who came later than us received some of the same orders as ours earlier. We were not warned about such a long wait. These are big minuses, very. 4. The...
Read moreI tried the Pani Puri, Samosa Chaat, and Rogan Josh Lamb. The highlight was definitely the Samosa Chaat, it was delicious! Unfortunately, the Pani Puri water was served cold, which affected the experience as it’s traditionally meant to be at room temperature. The lamb in the Rogan Josh also fell short of expectations.
On the positive side, the staff was friendly and attentive, which made the visit pleasant and also convinced me for 4 stars. However, the overall food quality didn’t quite meet the mark.
One thing I noticed is that rice is charged extra here, which seems to be common in Portugal. In Germany, where I live, rice is typically included with curries as an essential part of the meal. A main course should feel complete, especially when it’s a...
