Lovely little cafe serving great coffee and homemade food. The cakes not only look but also taste great. I had a slice of a pineapple tart and even though I might be slightly biased because I just loooove pineapple, it was absolutely delicious! Also, never had a pineapple cake like that before. Great value too! …Two americanos and the cake got me to a bill of 6 euro something. Another thing that I loved about this place was the atmosphere. There are some tables outside, which were taken by tourists I think, inside it was mainly locals, from all walks of life, knowing each other, chatting, laughing… playing instruments. Didn’t exactly understand what was discussed but didn’t need to to enjoy the true kindness and hospitality from everyone around. This place will stay dear in my heart <3

Best place to go in downtown Porto for lunch. The restaurant is not so far away from the Sao Bento train station. I had the best codfish "A Braz" (Bacalhau a Braz) made by Mrs. Fernanda. I came late for lunch at around 5 pm and they were so friendly. They prepared the food at that moment. Honestly, this is the third time coming here and never regret it whatsoever. Whenever I am in Porto I was like to come here for lunch. I prefer to sit outside because of the atmosphere of seeing people going up and down, but at the same time the place where the tables are positioned gives you a sense of privacy. But, most of all it is a real place to go for a value for money.

My daughters and I had lunch here and sat outside. The attention we received was outstanding. The food was plentiful and delicious. The three of us shared two Francesinhas and we left with full bellies!! I went inside to pay the bill and didn’t realize it was cash only. The bill was 37.80 euros and luckily I had just 38 euros. I told the owner I wanted to leave a gratuity and was disappointed I couldn’t. She said my smile was enough. She was so sincere and likable. I would go back again and again!

I had a very bad experience here due to poor communication from the staff. The core problem is that they have no paper menu and the waiter does a terrible job of explaining the dishes on the chalkboard. Based on the waiter’s recommendation I ordered a francesinha with chicken, which was explained as being a sandwich with only chicken inside (instead of beef), but it came with ham and sausage (note: I don’t eat pork). After I bit into it and discovered the pork they were somewhat apologetic, though the lady was argumentative with me and insisted “this is the dish”. (Well if that’s the dish, then explain clearly what it is to your non Portuguese customers). The waiter offered to make me a new one, which I accepted (big mistake), because I discovered big pieces of red fatty meat in the sauce. I have no clue what the meat was, but it was definitely not chicken. Why offer to make me a new one after I tell you that I don’t eat pork?! Absolutely disgusting service. I paid and left and will never return, and...

My experience at this restaurant was an absolute disaster. The owner behaved completely unprofessionally and rudely. Instead of listening to guests, she didn't let anyone finish speaking and was constantly frantic, as if she were the only person working.

The management of the restaurant was an absolute mess. While some guests got their dishes promptly, others were ignored and had to wait far too long. Particularly shocking was the pricing - 15 euros for a tiny cheese platter is simply ludicrous.

The food itself was a huge disappointment. The Caldo Verde was inedible, overly salty, and flavorless. This restaurant is definitely not recommended. The owner urgently needs to work on her customer and staff relations, or she'll soon find herself without...
