Made reservations to come here based on the great reviews but we’re thoroughly disappointed. The 4 story layout of the building was refreshing and it came with a beautiful view. It started off amazing with the starters; the meat and veggies in the pica pau were perfectly cooked and tender, the oxtail croquettes were well done too. The 10 year aged port wine was also delicious and we were excited for the mains to follow. However, it was absolutely disgusting to the point of borderline sickening (echoed by previous reviews as well). The experience forced me to write a Google review for the first time in over 5 years due to the outrageousness.

The octopus risotto was beyond overcooked: the rice was crunchy at the bottom, dry on top, yet soggy all the way through. The octopus was tough to the point of needing a steak knife to cut through, but the skin would peel off like a jacket of brisket because you needed to press so hard with the tines of the fork to pierce it. There was no flavour in the risotto itself, yet the octopus tasted of nothing other than salt.

The Iberian pork belly was also disgustingly overcooked, I sent a meal back to the kitchen for the first time in my life. The “crispy” pork skin could not be cut through at all, it was akin to the rind of aged cheese and looked like it too. It needed so much sawing that I had to flip it upside down to try to get through the meat and cut through the skin but all the layers fell apart, while the skin remained remarkably intact. There was no flavour in the pork and the sauce was a small puddle of brown coloured goo that simply wet the skin. The Mille feuille style cabbage that came with the dish was grey, soggy, and bland.

The waiter was sweet and noticed I was unhappy with my meal and offered to swap it for something else on the menu, and I ordered the codfish Raiz style. Another mistake, as we should’ve sent back everything at that point and simply left.

The codfish arrived and it was the cherry on top of the heaping pile of overcooked mains. The codfish was rubbery and almost tasted like it was reheated. The sauce was again extremely salty with no other flavour. The server noticed my face of disappointment again and when I mentioned the saltiness and overcooked fish, he said it was because the sauce was extremely flavourful due to the sausage used in it. I completely disagree on it being overfly flavourful, but he is not the chef and just doing his job so we just asked for the bill, leaving this meal untouched as well.

I felt bad for the server as he probably faced some heat from the kitchen for sending back 2 full plates of food from the same customer. However, the feeling was quickly quashed when he pushed for a 15% tip. This is the first restaurant where we faced this in Europe, since it is...

Last night we dined at this restaurant and though it was nice food and a pleasant experience, I found plastic in my butter for my starter, which I was happy to overlook until we reviewed the invoice today to find that we got charged for an extra 2 glasses of wine. When we called the next day to tell the man, he asked ‘what do you want me to do about it?’ We then asked if he could refund our card for the wine we did not order- he told us he could not refund the Visa we paid with unless it was in person… we kindly explained that we are no longer in Porto and that we’d appreciate a refund over card (we’ve owned businesses before and refunded over card many times, in many different systems) I also let him know that we found plastic in my food to which he replied ‘You are lying’. Are you kidding me??? How horrible to say that to a customer you have overcharged. Needless to say we did not get our refund and he told me to ‘go ahead, and do whatever we wanted to about it’. So here I am, letting people know to go elsewhere where the owners don’t deal with poor experiences like this. I love to recommend places and give good reviews. Enjoy Porto without...

I run my own establishments which cater to food and drinks, & when we had ordered our drinks they were not at all what they should of been as a mixologist the cocktails were very disappointing & undrinkable as the specs had clearly not been followed & altered instead. The food actually made me & my partner sick the croquettes were dry & the pork with potatoes was definitely off as the pork made my partner & I sick where we physically threw it up & had the horrible taste in our mouths to which we couldn’t eat it then for mains I had the pork belly which was burnt on the bottom and undercooked on the top which beggars belief how they accomplished that this dinner was an absolute shambles the only thing that was stomached was the water & even now as I write this I’m still sick because of that whole meal was trying not to be rude & tried to eat it but I physically couldn’t & just had to leave it all, I felt bad for the server who had to collect the full plates throughout the service & drinks, this dinner was an absolute waste of money, health inspectors should go check how they store their food & how they...

Here’s the deal. I got food poisoning because the lamb was very undercooked. My fault I didn’t say anything. But honestly the dish wasn’t that tasty. Both the octopus and lamb dish was missing seasoning or nice paired sauce. The vegetables on the side were like steamed and thrown on the side. I think the sides were the same on both dishes. I wish the excessive salt from the mushroom gratin was used on the main dishes? The octopus was insanely larger and very difficult to finish. The waiter asked if I wanted to finish the meals, I kindly said “no.” I lied and said I was full. He was so nice, I couldn’t tell him. I think he got overwhelmed when tables started to rush in. So we never heard from him besides dropping off a QR code on a laminated piece of paper with 10 cocktails, and our bill. They have a real cool building setup with multiple stories, vintage decor, and the view is awesome. I feel bad they have all that construction outside the door. I obviously won’t go back. If you decide to go, maybe stick with just tapas and try the other main dishes?

Overrated and quite an unpleasant dinner experience. I don’t like writing bad reviews but this restaurant deserves one! It took 25 minutes before we were served even though we were the third table on our floor. By now it was too late to order a cocktail and had to order wine and food at same time. An hour and half into being there we still did not have our main meal. When the food eventually came, it was cold and the seafood (see photo) was completely overcooked. To the point where the mussel shells were brittle. We are what we could and then eventually got up and walked downstairs to ask for the bill whilst our plates were still on the table. Not the dinner we were anticipating. Our waitress was very friendly but overwhelmed and I think the kitchen staff too. There are many other good eateries, don’t rush here.
