This is a lovely spot for some lunch. It’s close to the train station, the interior is lovely. Inside, there is a section with toys for kids to play with which my child was thrilled about as we waited for our food to come. Service was prompt, and the staff were so friendly. The food was excellent - the green juice was so fresh and spicy thanks to the kick of ginger; I had the tuna and leek quiche with a side salad, my husband had a ham and cheese wrap with spinach and tomatoes through it, and my child had the croissant with ham and cheese which was devoured pretty fast. Read moreThis place was fabulous! We found it on Happy Cow and it is only a 2 minute walk from the train station and in the opposite direction of all the crowds going into town. They have a beautiful indoor dining room and a fantastic outdoor patio with lots of plants, seating options with umbrellas, and nice welcoming quotes posted around. After over a week in Portugal, it's the first place we found that had gluten-free items, which are a necessity for me. There was lots for omnivores and vegans alike, and the service was excellent! The garden setting provided a nice vibe, perfect for a relaxed morning. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
However, I found the coffee to be quite watery and lacking in flavor, which was disappointing. The Eggs Benedict didn’t stand out, they were pretty average. My partner, on the other hand, enjoyed the English breakfast.
One downside was the wait time—we ended up waiting for the meals over 25 minutes after ordering which felt a bit excessive, especially since the cafe wasn't particularly busy...
