il Forno — Restaurant in Meshchansky District

One star — and even that feels generous.

I visited this branch (near Loomi) after a good experience at the one near the Radisson Hotel, but this was a complete disappointment.

From the start, the service was awful. A skinny waiter with a strange moustache ignored us completely and chose to serve the Russian guests who arrived after us. When we tried to get his attention, he just waved us off and called another waiter.

We ordered several items and had a child with us who made a bit of mess on his seat — completely normal when dining with kids. Instead of handling it politely, the first waiter started shouting in Russian and rudely pointing at the seat. Then came the bill, where they charged us for a bottle of water we never received. When we mentioned that, the waiter brought it over anyway, and when we said we no longer needed it, he began shouting again and pointed (yet again) at the kid’s seat — as if it had anything to do with the water!

He then called the manager, but before they could say anything, another (Russian) customer stepped in and told them their behavior was unacceptable. That person even argued with them about the dirty dishes.

This experience was bad & completely unprofessional. I do not recommend this place — especially for Arab tourists. I will not return here again.

Absolutely Horrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at this restaurant was completely unacceptable and needs to be shared.

From the moment we arrived, the service was shockingly poor. The server was incredibly rude, and to our disbelief, he kept ignoring our requests l. Our child made a small mess on the table – as kids sometimes do – and instead of handling it calmly or professionally, the server shouted at us in front of everyone, creating a deeply humiliating scene.

It didn’t end there. When we politely reminded them at the end of our visit, the server threw the water after getting it from inside on our table with aggressive behavior, yelled, and even shouting at us because of the mess. We were schoked of his attitude and had other waiters to explain what was he saying, it was something I have never experienced in any restaurant anywhere.

This place does not deserve anyone’s time or money. Not only was the service completely disrespectful, but the behavior crossed all lines of decency and professionalism. No family or individual should ever be treated this way.

I went to the restaurant four or more times, but unfortunately they take a commission for the service, which is supposed to be free, but for Arabs, the operational cost is 10 percent of the bill, and when I refuse, the waiter's behavior is unfortunately bad and rude, knowing that there was a Russian family next to us, and I saw the bill. There was no service fee, and they used many discount cards, but only with Arabs. When I refused to pay the additional amount, he wrote to me on his mobile phone that I am not welcome in his community. This was in the Forno branch near the Red Square. A failed experience, but I will never return. There are many restaurants. I pay a food fee, not a service fee.
