La Bottega Siciliana — Restaurant in Tverskoy District

We booked a reservation at la bottega siciliana in moscow russia ,through the hotel and got the reservation confirmed from the concierge, when we walked to the front desk which was at the outside are of the restaurant, the worker told us that we can enter the restaurant then ,one of her colleagues ran from the inside of the restaurant and started moving her hands gesturing and saying “no table,no” then her colleague was speaking to her in russian and pointing to the sheet of reservations right in front of us where we could see our name, we told the second lady that we booked through the four seasons so she could understand, her speaking in a mockery voice rolling her eyes and telling us “okay?” then her colleague proceeded talking to her and the 2nd lady walked us into the restaurant after rolling her eyes to the lady that was willing to let us in, she proceeded in talking to us in a rude way. We waited 17 min for a waiter to come and get our order, but got ignored by 4 waiters during that wait. The restaurant workers are racist! and rude! they don’t have respectful manners to their paying customers. Don’t go there! the food is mediocre...

Extremely disappointing experience. I had a confirmed reservation for 7:30 PM (Saturday, October 18, 2025) and arrived after a 20-minute taxi ride, only to find complete chaos at the reception. The staff told me my booking was canceled because I don’t have a Russian phone number — which is ridiculous and never happened in any other Moscow restaurant I visited.

I never received any cancellation message. It was obvious that the real issue was overbooking and poor management. The so-called manager, Maria, was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. The reception staff were even laughing mockingly, which is totally unacceptable.

The only polite person was the young lady who spoke English — she tried her best to help and translate, but it was beyond her control.

A truly embarrassing and disrespectful experience that ruined my evening. I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting professionalism or hospitality. You’ll get it only if there’s a table available — otherwise, you’ll have...

The food was fine, if a little bland.

However both myself and my girlfriend thought the waitresses were very strange girls. The girl who served us seemed fine initially but then never came back after clearing our table. We were never offered a dessert menu or the bill. After half an hour of sitting with an empty table we asked another waitress for the bill. She smacked it down onto the table and stormed off.

We are not sure what the issue was, but maybe they were all suffering from headaches from the ugly decor?
