I recently visited Sams Bar in Thamel and was blown away by the fantastic atmosphere and great drinks. This bar is definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a good night out. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the lively ambiance and friendly staff.
The bar serves up some of the best drinks in the area, and I particularly enjoyed their selection of beers and cocktails. The bartenders are skilled and knowledgeable, and they are more than happy to make recommendations if you are unsure of what to order. The lady behind the counter is particularly noteworthy, as she exudes a positive energy and really made us feel welcome.
One downside to this popular bar is that it can get very crowded, and finding a proper space to sit can be a bit of a challenge. However, this is a testament to just how great the atmosphere is at Sams Bar. Despite the crowds, the staff are always attentive and make sure that everyone is having a good time.
Overall, I would highly recommend Sams Bar to anyone looking for a fun night out in Thamel. The drinks are excellent, the ambiance is fantastic, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Just be prepared to potentially fight for a good...

This is also the only bar that strictly only serves drinks and you will not find any food on their menu, save for salted popcorns. If youâve never heard of Samâs Bar, chances are you will not stumble upon it as itâs inconspicuously hidden on the upper levels of an old building, a lone neon lit signboard as the only marker. The vibes at Samâs is as chill as they come, complemented by a scrubbish dĂ©cor you canât go wrong if you step in here for a drink with your buddies. A long-time favourite with trek leaders, mountain guides and other Kathmandu regulars. Thereâs reggae every Saturday. It's hidden upstairs just north of the...
Read moreNo WiFi, no food service, the washrooms smelled disgusting and the cocktail (a pina colada) was undrinkable. I returned the drink after a small sip and ordered a beer. When it came time to pay, they insisted I pay 995rp for the undrinkable cocktail. I refused. The owner, an Austrian woman named âVâ insisted I pay. I wasnât going to pay for something I couldnât drink. She fleeced me of 100rp on top of what I paid for the beers in order to be allowed to leave and told never to return. Of course, I have no intentions of returning although a friend wanted to take me there next week. There are so many better places to visit in Thamel. This place wants to take all the money from tourists and deliver absolutely no...
