I had a pleasant dining experience at Restoran Taverna during my stay in Belgrade. The restaurant offers a cozy and casual atmosphere, though it could benefit from a bit more character and warmth in its interior design. The food was satisfying overall. I especially enjoyed the schnitzel, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The portion size was generous, and it was nicely complemented with fresh vegetables and a lemon wedge. The creamy penne pasta was also flavorful, with a rich sauce that wasn't too overpowering. The chopped salad with olives and tomato was fresh and vibrant, a perfect side to the heavier dishes.
The service was prompt and polite. The staff seemed attentive and willing to help, although communication in English was somewhat limited—but manageable. Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes, and the location was easy to find.
Overall, this is a good spot for a casual lunch or dinner, especially if you're looking for hearty, comforting food without breaking the bank. I’d recommend it for travelers looking to try something local in a relaxed setting. Would definitely consider returning on my next visit...
Read moreA group of 6 + toddler walking around the old Belgrade centre took a wrong decision to choose this place during a lul period of the day. Early for dinner, late for lunch. Hardly any tables occupied. I spotted a pair finishing lunch and the leftovers of their pasta dishese were quite tempting. Let's eat here then. Food was passable. Pasta dishes were run out ynd they would not take orders. Apparently it takes at least 2 hours to cook pasta. Oh yeah? Grilled minced dishes were quite good. Wilted green salad that in any aspiring place would go to the bin. All dishes were quite on the salty side. Service was terrible although soon we were the only occupied table. Waiter could not part from his cigarette at the stairs/ entry door. Eyeing us all the time and judging if he realy needs to come over or he can finish yet another cigarette. The pinnacle was the main dishes that arrived after 45min. waiting. Slow food place. Literally. But only 5 mains were served. The 6th main came after...
Read moreA beautiful hodden gem in Belgrade. The food, the ambience, the service all was superb, that's why we came back the next evening as well, our last evening in Belgrade. The owner remembered us and we were warmly welcomed. It looks beautiful in this family-owned restaurant and you feel right at home there. We had the same feeling as we had in another country in a family-owned restaurant, we never went somewhere else. It's so important the feeling you get when entering a restaurant and zow you are treated, and this was a match. The cook, the owner knows to cook with taste and quality. The first night an nice men was waiting our table, the next evening a very nice lady, both days we felt very welcome. The food we absolutely loved. We'll come back next time we'll be in Belgrade again. I highly recommend this cosy restaurant, don't forget to order their very tasty bread to the...
