!!!!! What was most DISGUSTING, was the waiter’s complicity in HARASSMENT: a group of men at another table attempted to send drinks to us, and rather than dismissing such behaviour, the head waiter himself came over to ask what we would like to drink — as if facilitating this sleazy gesture. That level of unprofessionalism is beyond comprehension.!!!!!
And about the rest of our visit: Even though the food was decent and the restaurant has a certain old-fashioned charm, the service was shockingly poor. There are far better places offering not only good food, but also warm, welcoming service — which this place severely lacks.
The head waiter’s (served inside) behaviour towards young women was appalling — rude, dismissive, and frankly inappropriate. He brought the cutlery & salt only after the food arrived, spoke with an unkind tone, mimics and made no effort to be helpful or courteous.
To make matters worse, a salad we ordered was never served, and naturally, we did not pay for it. As we were leaving, he followed us out and demanded payment in a confrontational manner — despite it being their mistake.
In short, poor service ruined what could have been a pleasant experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone who values respectful,...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant and was impressed by several aspects of the experience. The staff was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly welcoming, making us feel right at home. The traditional atmosphere added to the charm of the place, making it a perfect spot for a cozy evening.
The restaurant boasts a commendable selection of wines, which added to the overall dining pleasure. As for the food, the beef under the sac was a delightful highlight. It was beautifully cooked, with tender and juicy meat that melted in the mouth. A truly memorable dish.
However, I have to admit there was a slight disappointment with the cevapi and ustipci. While the meat was tasty, it seemed to lack that distinct char-grilled flavor I was expecting. Instead, it seemed to have been prepared on a gas barbecue. This departure from traditional grilling methods was a bit disappointing.
Lastly, it's worth noting that this restaurant isn't on the cheaper side, but the overall experience and wine selection make it worth the visit. I would recommend this place for its amazing staff, warm atmosphere, and excellent wine choices, but perhaps not for those seeking a truly authentic...
Read moreIt is a very nice local restaurant (Kafana) where you can find authentic Serbian food from the Vojvodina region and other regions of Serbia. Soups are wonderful, I would strongly recommend the tomato and minced meat soups. For main dishes, the barbecues are all good, local dishes like sarma are also wonderful. They make their bread in house, thus expect some nice warm bread with your meal. Drinks are good, they have local Rakia of great quality in addition to the traditional bears and other hard liquor. During the summer you can enjoy sitting outside in their small yard. In winters, they have two main seating areas, one small for private occasions and one large one. If you plan to go during the weekend nights, please make sure to call and reserve. They have life music, either solo piano or some traditional Serbian songs. Definitely an enjoyable experience. I would give them 5 stars, yet when it is busy, service frequency...
