My wife and I travel frequently and have been to dozens of countries. One thing we do in every country is eat in an Indian restaurant. I am sorry to say that the food here in chutney in Bratislava was the worst Indian food we ate anywhere in the world, bar none.
We ordered gobi 65, something I cook at home often. The cauliflower is supposed to be deep fried in batter and tossed in a mixture of sauces. Instead here we got boiled cauliflower smothered in tomato puree. It was absolutely tasteless and flavorless. Unbelievable really.
For mains, we ordered paneer Tikka masala with garlic naan. Instead of garlic naan, they served us chapatis. Hello? I am an Indian and I can tell the difference between chapati and naan blindfolded from 10 ft away.
The only bearable thing that we ordered was mango lassi. I am certain that lassi came packaged in a can, which they just poured, diluted and served.
If you are native Slovak and have never tasted Indian food anywhere else, please don't judge Indian food based on this restaurant.
Last but not the least, we waited almost an hour to have our food served. That's too long a wait anywhere, no matter the class of the restaurant.
Edit: The restaurant owner replied to this review saying he can't find the exact order. For his/her information we were there on Feb 14th. Also you did not contradict anything from my review, just doubted whether I ate there. That can tell you a lot. Sorry for the bad review, but...

In a city full of Neapolitan pizza, Chutney's "vegetable pizza" is the one I weirdly come back to all the time; I probably had it over 20 times in the last 2 years and 9 out of 10 times it's great, even though it always has a different combination of veggies (I had mushrooms AND olives on this Indian pizza once and that was VERY weird). They usually have it only in the afternoon though, after like 3 or 4 p.m.. So if this review was only about the pizza, I would totally give it 5 stars (it's my guilty pleasure, idc). Sometimes I'm afraid they'll stop making it because we might be the only people in Bratislava who order their pizza 😅
But the restaurant is not perfect. Most of the time you'll have to double the estimated delivery time - if the app says 30 minutes, the food will most probably be delivered after an hour. The daily menus, although very cheap, can be tasteless. The same goes for the main dishes that we tried, the portions looked smaller than what we're usually used to getting in Indian restaurants (they came in soup containers instead of aluminium trays) and tasted more like a tomato soup than tikka masala.
TLDR; try the pizza but don't expect much from the...
Read moreI recently visited Chutney Indian Restaurant on Old Town Street and had a mixed experience. While their unique Indian-style pizzas, like the Tikka Paneer/Chicken Pizza, were interesting and not commonly found in Europe, the rest of the meal was underwhelming.
We ordered Paneer Tikka Masala and Chicken Kadai Curry, asking for them to be spicy, but they were quite mild. The Naan and Veg Pulao were decent, but not outstanding. For starters, we had, Chicken 65, gobi 65 and paneer 65, which were disappointing. They were simply tossed in onion, tomato, curry leaves, and mustard, lacking any real flavor.
One highlight was the Mango Lassi, which was thick, creamy, and had a nice hint of cardamom. However, the Peshawari Naan was overly sweet for our taste, so unless you like sweet breads, you might want to skip it.
Service was just okay. We were advised that two curries would be enough for four people, but it wasn't. We had to order a spicy Dal Tadka, which took 15 minutes to arrive and was neither spicy nor flavorful, with no tadka on the dal.
The prices were on the higher side compared to other Indian restaurants in the area, costing us about 22.5 Euros per person. Overall, I would give Chutney Indian...
