Was my first time visiting Mexican restaurant and it was unforgettable experience đ. As soon as my dad and I entered the restaurant, we were given a table and the waitress asked us if it was our first time here. She explained some of the dishes, as well as suggested some of them to try. The whole dinner was around 100 euros, and if you consider how much of everything we got, it was super worth it. The first one was the guacamole which is served for two people. Usually, when I order myself guacamole most of them are tasteless, and you can barley taste the avocado. Here however, the guacamole was rich in flavour and it was so nice. Next we got ourselves variety of tacos and empanada de mariscos. Empanada de mariscos was my top dish from the lunch I had there. I do not know how to describe this masterpiece in words, you have to try it yourself, but It had seafood in it which came with two sauces (ketchup and salsa) and when I tried the empanada with the jalapeño ketchup, it tasted heavenly good that I felt like ordering a second portion of it. However we had 3 tacos in front of us so we had to try them as well. We got volcanes, nopales and mushroom, and alambre al carbon. They all were delicious and it is hard to describe them all in one word since their tastes are different and unique, but all I can say is that I never tried a better taco in my life before. Lastly , to complete our meal we got 2 quesadillas (which I forgot to take photos of) one with seafood and the other one with beef. The seafood one was super spicy for me however it was still good. And the beef one was my favourite one :) alongside with meals, we got drink which were margaritas and rice milk drink (which was delicious!) Overall I loved the food that was made, and the waiting time was not too long. I definitely recommend and I would be returning, in fact I already did and I will attach the photos of those dishes as well :) Thank you so much for such a great dinner experience at...
Read moreReview of a Mexican living in BA for 10 years: Place is good but has some downs for me: you wait too much for the food, in the brunch sometimes the restaurant is empty and you wait more than 30 minutes for a dish. If the restaurant is full, can take an hour!
overpriced. Some dishes could be kept cheaper, like chilaquiles or enchiladas suizas which are completely overpriced. Any drinks, if you go there and get drinks be ready to pay a lot.
this is not authentic Mexican food, sorry. Ok itâs not burritos and quesadillas but tacos are not like this in Mexico. Tacos are not fancy how here they are trying to portrait them. Tacos are not so saturated of ingredients. You donât have here the ability to customize your taco but instead you are imposed all the ingredients. This is a big problem because in Slovakia many people canât stand onion and cilantro. When you eat tacos in Mexico you can choose your salsas, add your onion, your lemon, your cilantro⊠here you are imposed a taco that is just packed with stuff. Nowwhere in Mexico you would see anything like this. Naturally when I take Slovaks there they always complain about cilantro or onion imposed on their dishes.
menu is getting bigger and Iâm afraid they wonât be able to keep their quality. It was better when menĂș was smaller and dishes can be better controlled. Time will tell. For me many items are uneccesary and unliked by people. Aguachile de camarĂłn is the best example. Overpriced and not a single Slovak I have met that tried it actually liked it.
Donât get me wrong, I like this place but itâs not perfect and perfect places get 5 stars. This place is good for a team building if your company is paying for it or if you have a romantic first date, but not for going there every week for tacos like if...
Read moreSolid Mexican food with a bit of a touristy vibe.
Not that you should go to Bratislava for it's Mexican food, but this was a tasty, but expensive option. The recommended 3-4 tacos per person is a bit outrageous, and would only recommend that if you have plenty to spend and aren't getting anything else. On the whole, 8-9 eur per taco is probably the highest price per taco I've ever seen globally, outside of that 45 eur per taco I saw in Cancun. But you know, that was A5 wagyu cooked entirely table-side by the head chef; but that was just silly.
Taste wise, it was all very good. The meat cuts were excellent and tender and well seasoned. A bit too heavy of a hand in the salt, grease, and cheese, but not uncommon for non-native restaurants. The rib eye taco was a bit too chewy and should have been in strips rather than served as a steak on a tortilla...which no one does.
Where things got off was a pozole - which was delicious, but the only utensil was a huge serving spoon that is impossible to eat a chunky soup out of. The shredded lettuce gets all over the place on a spoon that large. Not sure the thinking there. Secondly, my cocktail had puree on the outside of the glass, so by the end of the meal, I couldn't touch the glass without getting mango puree on my hands - again, visuals over function; kind of silly.
Easy central location. Service was attentive, but slightly pushy. I would recommend this place for those looking for a different flavor in Slovakia, a fun night out with friends or colleagues, or a visitor with an expense account. If you're just looking for something tasty to fill your stomach,...
