Fudo — Restaurant in Maribor

I am rating this reastaurant with 1/5, because the service was absolutely unprofessional and the quality of the food was poor compared to the prices. We went for a diner with my fiancé. We ordered starters and 2 burgers. After some time the waiter came to ask again what have we ordered. After one hour our food was still not ready. I went to ask, if it is on the way. It turned out, that they forgot to put our order into their computer system, even though they came to ask twice. We were asked to stay another 20min, because our order would have priority. We decided to stay, because we were really hungry. We got our food 1,5 hours later after the first order. The starters were oily and the taste was boring. Our burgers were disappointing. The meet was of bad quality and tasteless. The fries, which were not included, were of no consistency, oily and overdone. Without apologizing or any sign of regret, we received the full bill. The bistro has a great location - sitting outside you can enjoy watching people at the big main square. The wine list offers a variety of organic Slovenian wines, we tried muscat and it was really nice for a summer evening. The music was really loud and not fitting to the concept of the bistro, but we enjoyed sitting outside nonetheless. And now as for the food: the menu was diverse and fun and 4 shared dishes was more than enough for the two of us. However, almost all dishes lacked in flavour and were under seasoned. Even the miso mayonnaise was not flavourful enough, drizzled over roast beef slices. The octapus tentacles fried in tempura were like rubber in texture, unfortunately, instead of being crispy outside and juicy inside. I think that it’s great that the restaurant is partnering with local farms and trying to put out a creative menu, hope that they will only get better with time and consider our remarks. Visited the restaurant on my last night in Maribor, and I was the perfect end to my trip. The waiters are very friendly and helpful, after being seated, I was quickly seen to, and my order placed. I ordered the tempura chicken, which was delicious (definitely would recommend this to anyone visiting), which came in good time (not a long wait at all, but long enough to know that it is being made fresh). For dessert, the chocolate soufflé was sensational, a good recommendation by the waiter. The restaurant itself was very clean inside, with good much and a great atmosphere. The waiters very attentive, and their English was great (very helpful as I am not fluent in Slovenian).
