Worst experience ever. There was only one other group of people in the restaurant, and yet the waiter couldn't remember properly what me and my friend ordered (friend ordered shrimp, waiter heard him say chicken ...). I chose a curry dish with the lowest possible spiciness, and he brought me the spiciest one available! I couldn't tell that it was the wrong one just from seeing it, but I felt the taste was way too strong, and then after about 5 small bites I had the most horrible reaction - dizziness, double vision, hands shaking, burning mouth and stomach. I immediately stopped eating. The waiter asked what was wrong, and I explained how I thought it was very odd that something that was supposed to be mildly spicy was burning my throat that badly. He answered, not appearing concerned at all, that he thought I had ordered the spiciest dish, and asked if my hands only started shaking after he told me that. NO, I was clearly shaking before. I felt like he was trying to blame ME for not ordering right, when it was clearly his fault. The dish names sound completely different, I have no idea how he managed to mix up two things that don't sound alike.
He said that I have a reaction that's the same as when you take cocaine - EXCUSE ME? No, I don't know what happens when you take cocaine because I don't take it. Maybe he does?
He kept addressing me as if I were a teen, even though both me and my friend are in our thirties. He kept saying I shouldn't worry about it, as if it was nothing. He ordered mint tea for me, thinking it might help. Then we asked for our bill, and we were offered a 10% off, with the tea "being on the house". I obviously didn't even order the tea myself, why would you want to charge us in the first place?! The 10% off means NOTHING. My friend and I decided we weren't satisfied with the solution, so we said we won't be paying for my dish, considering it was the wrong one and caused me so much pain. The waiter then asked me how much of that dish I actually ate, as if I was making it all up! I clearly left nearly everything on the plate. He then said he will try to see if he can fix this, as if it's that hard to change the bill. He didn't even say good-bye in the end. With all the asian restaurants nearby where I never had a problem, I can't see how they can continue operating like this - unless you're lucky enough to get the dish you ordered. Maybe that's why the place was so empty when my friend and...
Read moreHad a dinner at Chuty’s, first day of arrival in Ljubljana. Great Thai restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the spring rolls and papaya salads for appetizers. Spring rolls were great. Papaya salad first came with shrimp which my wife or daughter can’t eat being vegetarian. Waiter quickly replaced it with regular papaya salad but I guess he must have used fish stalk hence it had after taste. When I told the waiter, he said he wouldn’t charge me for the salad. That was nice of him. On the main dish, my wife ordered the red curry vegetable, my daughter ordered the noodles and I ordered pad kra pow with chicken. Listed dish on the menu was with pork but I ordered it with chicken. Food tasted great and had right amount of spice. My dish was little dry but was manageable. Ordered couple of glasses of Cabernet and the total bill was 60 euros. Considering the amount of food. Appetizers and drinks it was cheap and had a great time. Would definitely recommend this place for foodies out there who likes to try different...
Read moreRead the reviews and decided to try. The minute I walked in, “Thai fine dining” came to mind. The setting, decor, and ambience gave that impression. Didn’t order much. Only fried tiger prawns with panko / bread crumbs coating and fried chicken dumplings. Dumplings was ok. But the accompanying sauce (dark-coloured sauce, tasted like hoisin sauce, but colour was definitely darker) wasn’t right. Usually it’s the red sweet chili sauce that goes with fried dumplings. The deep fried tiger prawns were overcooked, hence a bit dry and hard. The sauce, no idea what it was. Felt like they were serving fusion instead of authentic Thai food. Was not pricey, considering the interior looked somewhat fancy. The place got filled up quickly. Service became a bit slow...
