We had quite a disappointing experience today with a waitress named Simone today. Food and beverage was great as always the service wasn’t so nice, she was quite arrogant and when it came to paying the bill, we payed with 100€ note and was told that it was a fake! Now this was quite disturbing/stressful/embarrassing for me. And I asked could this be a mistake and was told that there is no mistake, that the money is fake. What an awful experience! I don’t know why she didn’t call police if the money was fake first of all? I immediately went to a bar and a gas station so they can check this and of course it wasn’t a fake! I came back and asked for a manager but he/she wasn’t there. Because I wanted to know what kind of machines do they have? Reviews indicated this wine/tapas bar had an excellent selection of wines by the glass. They were spot on and the waiter recommended a couple of dry, bold reds from Slovenia. One was a cab/merlot blend the other a cab. Both were excellent though I chose to have an additional glass of the cab. I had the local specialty Kranjska sausage with mustard and horseradish. It was not so impressive as our guide said it was. This is no fault of the restaurant, I just think I would select a different dish next time. They have a varied and lengthy menu.
